Opening New Tab Crashes Vivaldi 2.4.1455.4
-
I have been testing 2.4.1455.4 to see if it has improved the Video Playback Issue which has been persistent, however, everytime when opening new tabs, Vivaldi will crash to the gray Vivaldi logo page, the browser window will be frozen in place on the desktop screen, and a new window cannot be opened through shortcuts, menus, or right clicking the Vivaldi icon in the desktop dock.
The only solution seems to be to force quit Vivaldi and reopen. I've reverted back to 2.3 to avoid the issue.
There seems to be no issue with opening new windows if the issue has not been triggered, and those new windows are still accessible after a previous window has crashed within the same Vivaldi session but the new window will again crash if a new tab is attempted.
Vivaldi Version: 2.4.1455.4
Mac OS: 10.10.5 (Mac Pro - Early 2009) -
I was hit by this too on SNAPSHOT (2.4.1455.4 64bit), a friend experienced it on STABLE (2.3.1440.45 32 bit). I've then switched from SNAPSHOT to STABLE (2.3.1440.41, new clean portable installation, distinct profile directory) and the problem did not occur. My best bet is that is that some files (caches, configs, etc) in the profile directory cause Vivaldi to crash.
I don't dare to upgrade to .45 now.

@dvdgsng To work around this, please try setting a bookmark folder (even an empty one) as a Speed Dial. Today's 2.3 (Stable) update is also affected by this glitch.
