Animated GIFs in Facebook Comments
-
So, i you were to paste a url to an animated gif in a facebook comment (like, say, http://media3.giphy.com/media/uLCEDwDvkQgKs/giphy.gif), you'd typically get it animated in the comments as you read it. Vivaldi, otoh, is giving a gray box with a play button and I haven't figured out what I need to install/enable to get it to work. The gif animates if I click the link. I'm betting this is simple, I just haven't been able to figure it out and I had a free second to post and see if anyone can give me a hint...

It's because Facebook converts your gif to a MP4 file with x264 codec which Vivaldi doesn't support. Once you open the link it's a normal gif so Vivaldi can read it.

Derp. I honestly knew the first part, but it didn't filter up my brain. I swear I'd seen a different browser in my testing want some plugin or another.
Now, the 'which Vivaldi doesn't support', thanks
