Cardinaldata.net

I've a question. This morning my security application began blocking an outbound message from vivaldi.exe to cardinaldata.net. Adware. So, my question. Is this part of Vivalidi's tracking of usage stats? Or something else? I have Do Not Track and all such features checked in settings but maybe I'm missing one? Thanks for any insight. :^)

No, Vivaldi does not track!
Where did this happen? Here in forum? Ore on a special site?
May be this site installed a sol called service worker to communicate in background.
Please openvivaldi://serviceworker-internals
, have a look if there is something with Cardinaldata .net and hit Unregister button if there is such entry.

Searching for this particular adware (and how to get rid of it) online doesn't bring much up yet but I stumbled upon a post from 16hrs ago on the kaspersky forum where a few people reporting an infection on chrome with this.
I post the link below so you can keep an eye on it if they find a solution to this.

This is only happening in Vivaldi. No other browser, so what setting do I need change to fix this? Thanks!

I looked there. Nothing about that site. It is limited to Vivaldi though. And it is happening on virtually every site I visit. Not on any other browser including Chrome.

@genej101 I fear you have a extension installed which causes this connection.
For a check use 'Private Window' mode in Vivaldi or start Vivaldi from commandline with
vivaldi --disable-extensions

@Gwen-Dragon I disabled ALL extensions then re-enabled them one at a time. It is the Flash Player extension. I guess leaving that disabled will take care of it. Thanks for the ideas. :^)

For others to be warned about such extension. Which Link to Chrome webstore does install this extension.
-
@genej101 How about you uninstall the extension?
-
@luetage Did. Removed it completely. No further issues. :^)

@Gwen-Dragon I'm pretty sure this is where I got it. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/flash player?hl=en-US
I wish Flash would just go away altogether. Soon, maybe. :^)

And it was this version…
Malicious extension is: Flash Player + saves favorite flashes and play them later.
