No Buttons on Open Session Dialogue
-
@Pesala It does not show up here like that at all. I am using the current snapshot -- maybe that is not working for it, I guess.
-
@treego Have you saved any sessions yet?
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1809 build 17763.253 • Snapshot 2.3.1420.4 (64-bit)

@treego Yes, I have several saved sessions. I have the 2.3.1420.4 (Official Build) (32-bit) version of Vivaldi. image url)
-
@treego This looks like it may be a bug. Perhaps because you have a lot of sessions, so I have forked the posts to a new thread to avoid disrupting the Feature Request thread any further.
Try this:
- Exit Vivaldi
- Go to Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Sessions
- Here you should find a number of files with extension *.bin
- Move all but half a dozen or so to C:\TEMP\ or wherever
- Restart Vivaldi
-
Looks to me like the session list is long enough to expand over the buttons and cover them completely. Definitely a UI bug (something that often happens if you have a window with a more or less set size, and no scroll functionality on the list component).
-
@treego I was able to reproduce the bug by duplicating my sessions until I had more than 30 of them.

I suggest the following work-around until the bug is fixed.
- Archive the older sessions using 7-Zip
- Delete them leaving only the most recent twenty or so
- When the list fills up again, move some more *.bin files to the archive.

@Pesala OK, thank you!

@Pesala OK, thank you, again, Pesala!

Just wanted to pass a long a (sort of) work around for this bug.
If you select a session and hit tab, the Open Session in a New Window checkbox is selected and causes the bottom of the Open Saved Session dialog box to become visible. Granted this doesn't help deal with the sessions that may be between the bottom of the top portion of the dialog, and the top of the bottom portion. But it does at least give you an opportunity to open a selectable session in a New Window or not.

@ShadesOfGrey This bug is fixed in the latest snapshot.

It seems this bug is back with the latest version? Once again I can't scroll further down the sessions list.

I have multiple Vivaldis on my system, a main one plus several standalone for different purposes. They never update all at once so I'm not sure my main installation is the last one that updated, I just assumed that since there was an update a few days ago and the sessions list used to work ok for months. Anyway, it's 2.7.1628.30 - how do I update to the snapshot?
