Browser not seeing website videos - same old same old as Opera

I see Vivaldi has the same issue with videos on sites that Opera has. It's why I switched to Vivaldi, but to no avail. Details:

Vivaldi 2.2.1388.37 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

OS Linux
JavaScript V8 7.1.302.31
Flash 32.0.0.114 /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libpepflashplayer.so
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3578.98 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/2.2.1388.37

Can some one tell me why this happens and what can be done?

Please tell us what fails.

Do all videos play at https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html?
If not, a codec is missing on your Linux.

Run vivaldi in shell and you see the error message?
Which video URL fail?

Yes, I read the sticky, but I don't understand what it means to me: H.264/MP4 is dead, the others work.
I ran the suggested terminal command, got this:

1. After you installed the libffmpeg.so by shell, does the first video (H.264/MP4) on https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html show?

2. You said:

   Error Code: MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED

   Where (URL!!!) does this happen?

3. To see if your GPU hardware is not active, open vivaldi://gpu , copy the content and post it in codefences here.
   Any marked as red or orange?

4. Do you use the latest chipset/GPU drivers for your hardware?

5. Is Hardware acceleration in Vivaldi Settings → Webpages activated?
