@ROTFL Awkard.
I'm testing this with several addons, mods and so on. No crashes yet. But honestly I didn't test the known bugs said above. I guess they triggers the crashes. I'm not using the auto-closing panel or moving/detaching tabs between windows (both known). -

Also, it looks like web panels don't automatically close any more upon losing focus. If you use floating panels, and have "Auto-close Inactive Panel" checked, they still just stay open if you click on the page behind them. This doesn't seem to affect the stock panels like window, history or download.
Also for extensions which pop over the page.
In my case it's:- Web Developer
- ColorZilla
- Shodan
- uMatrix
- uBlock Origin
You have to click the toolbar button again to close

@kened: Hey, we've added PiP so that you can pop videos out in a window https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshots/picture-in-picture-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1332-4/. We still have improvements we want to add though
-
@buak: Yeah, thanks for the report, we are working on a fix
-
@gwen-dragon: That would be a nice addition to the feature
-
@frommhold &@Gwen-Dragon
Thank you for the answers. It works with the address bar and the key ESC -
@ROTFL I get only crashes with private windows.
-
@npro: Me too. But I can not reproduce to show how happens.
-
@npro I've seen this is my normal profile. I made a test profile, and it doesn't crash, but gets stuck on the splash screen in a new private window
-
@rotfl: Very unstable for me too. A lot of crashes. First it was only on private mode, but now it crashed in normal mode.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Yup.
It will take some time to open 23 tickets so I'll do it after work... -
@mohamadeen: Hey, you could check the trash icon (right-side on the address bar / buttom if you have tabs on the side), it will keep previously closed windows for the next two restarts, or until you've closed 25 more tabs afaik.
-
Is anyone else having issues opening saved sessions in new windows? Is that related to other already mentioned issues, or worth a new report?
-
@folgore101: Confirmed here too, thanks for the report

@Folgore101 Confirmed. When Floating panel is selected, it's not possible to drag bookmarks in Bookmarks Panel or notes in Notes Panel.
MacBook Pro Early 2015 / macOS 10.12.6 Sierra / Vivaldi 2.3.1420.4
Thank you.

Thanks to you who tell us about the viewing of the bugs, gives a pleasant feeling of being constantly on the piece.

@frommhold: Good find.

I'm having problems with pages that appear blank and never load. This has happened to me 6 or 8 times today. Thus far, none of the pages in question are anything I can give you a link to though.
-
I have to correct myself here. The blank pages are a display problem not a problem with pages loading. Minimizing the Vivaldi window than normalizing it again fixes it, at least until I choose to look at a different tab.
-
Thanks for this. I really like that I can finally see the passwords without typing the whole chrome://settings/passwords thing.
However, this built is kind of unstable for me. The issue seems to be with notifications, or with opening links from other apps, Twitter UWP for example. It's not 100% consistent though, but also didn't happen in previous builds at all.
What happens is Vivaldi freezes and I have to force close it with the X on the peek preview from the taskbar. Alt-F4 on the window is not working, nor was Ctrl-TAB or other shortcuts. The app is not crashed entirely, because I can hear the Youtube video playing when I open a YT notification. I can't see the video tab though. Since there are no hard crashes, there are no dumps in AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Crashpad\ either.
By notifications, I mean the Action Center notifications from Windows 10 1809, to clarify. For example, when you get a reply to a YT comment or when there's a new video etc.
-
@t0yz I can confirm this issue too of Vivaldi freezing when opening external links
