Regular 100% cpu for "background tab".

    CPU - Core i5 2500 K @ 4.5 Ghz, 24 GB DDR3, SSD 120 GB (OS). Ubuntu 16.04.4, kernel 4.4.0-116-generic.

Plugins: Adguard, Frigate CDN, Freedis, Google translate, GNOME shell integration, IPFack, Simple Video download helper, Tampermonkey, Stylish, The great suspender, Turn off the lights.

    Command line: /usr/bin/vivaldi-stable --disk-cache-size=0 --memory-cache-size=1073741824 --flag-switches-begin --autoplay-policy=user-gesture-required-for-cross-origin --disable-accelerated-2d-canvas --enable-fast-unload --enable-offline-auto-reload-visible-only --disable-offline-auto-reload --disable-zero-copy --gpu-rasterization-msaa-sample-count=0 --disable-lcd-text --num-raster-threads=4 --save-previous-document-resources=onDOMContentLoaded --show-saved-copy=primary --ui-disable-partial-swap --enable-features=FontCacheScaling,OverlayScrollbarFlashWhenMouseEnter,ParallelDownloading --disable-features=AnimatedAppMenuIcon,AppBanners,DesktopPWAWindowing,ExpensiveBackgroundTimerThrottling,ExperimentalAppBanners,NewAudioRenderingMixingStrategy,OverlayScrollbar,UseSurfaceLayerForVideo --flag-switches-end --disable-smooth-scrolling

I have many suspended tabs (~100), 10-20 active tabs and 2 browser windows.
Lags are regular every 5 seconds and continued for 7 seconds.

How to determine, what site or plugin or other thing caused this behavior?

If you hit Shift⇑+Esc to open Vivaldi task manager, you can see which tab or extension consume so much.

  • It's "Background tab: Vivaldi". If I click it, tab Extensions opens. It's not enought for me to understand.

    What's running in the background?

This is what I want to understand. Maybe the developers know?
