Opera extensions

I heard you can now use google's extensions by first installing Opera's extension that lets you do that. My question is how do I install the opera extension into Vivaldi? I love this browser but have to have some of my extensions, they are a must.

Thats correct. You can install extensions from Chrome Web Store.
Problem: Currently, the corresponding buttons are not displayed. You have to manage them manually:
After installation: Input vivaldi:extensions into the address field and see the options. -
You don't need to install Opera extension which enables Opera to download Chrome extensions. In fact, I'm not sure you could. You simply install extensions direct from the Chrome Store.
In order to install Opera extensions in Vivaldi, you have to modify the extension itself, because it really is strictly made for Opera and no other browser. I have seen mention here in the forum somewhere how someone successfully installed an Opera extension using Developer Mode at Vivaldi://extensions, but I didn't really pay any attention to how that worked, because I was not interested in having any Opera extensions in Vivaldi.

opera's extension store offers nothing that chromes doesn't have. plus, chrome has 1000's more. just do as suggested by ice007 and use chrome extensions.

I don't think the Vivaldi extension store was mentioned - just the internal Vivaldi extension manager page

It was a workaround I posted months ago when chrome store didn't work with Vivaldi, while Opera store was more kind letting vivaldi to download the extensions.
Now the scenario is reversed: Chromium store works with Vivaldi while the Opera one doesn't work anymore

That's a false assumption for most of the extensions available there.
Surely there are extensions that are Opera specific (like the ones meant for the sidebar) but almost everything else is just the same Chrome extension compressed in the same way, but named differently.

I've tried to install Adblock Plus from the Chrome Store several times, and Vivaldi just crashes. I'm using the x64 version of Viv.

Try uBlock way better than AB/ABP
And keep in mind that 64bit is more experimental, there is little point using it over the 32bit version.
