Vivaldi crashes when closing the last open tab in a window + Sync everytime I open the app
-
I just reported this bug to 1password to see what the status of their bug fix was. An engineer responded saying that the extensions works with all other chromium variants and believes it is a problem with Vivaldi.
Edit: Now I notice that Vivaldi didn't reload the page after said crashes and I missed a lot of new posts. So this is probably stale/moot. Sorry.

Hello,
I'm having this crash as well. I'm using 2.5.1525.40 (Stable channel) (64-bit) on MacOs 10.14.2 (18C54) with 1password 7.2.5 (70205004).
It happens whenever I close a window (not tab). Also happens with popups (window.open()).
It crashes if I press the red X button to close the window.
It does not crash when I close the window by pressing Command+W.Let me know if you need me to send any extra details.
Kindly, konchanet

After upgrading to MacOs 10.14.5 (18F132) I don't have the issue anymore...

Thanks for sharing all these insights and sorry for the trouble. Is this issue still happening with Vivaldi latest stable version 2.5 ?
VB-number to follow is: VB-47521 -
@gaelle said in Vivaldi crashes when closing the last open tab in a window + Sync everytime I open the app:
VB-47521
I think so - well I get a crash with 1password when quitting. This is probably the wrong place.
But how do I follow bug VB-47521 ? It is not a link There is no obvious bug relate menu except to report a bug?

Hello,
I previously replied saying the problem was gone but I was wrong.
The problem still happens.
Vivaldi 2.6.1566.49
1Password 7 Version 7.3.1 (70301007)Very mega annoying. I'm saying goodbye to Vivaldi as this really makes me mad.
Cheers

@konchanet Sorry to hear that. FYI, VB-47521 is still open and I've asked the Vivaldi team where things currently stand regarding a fix.
-
FYI, the latest Snapshot build contains a fix for VB-52350: Crash when closing Vivaldi window. This also fixes VB-47521 and several other duplicate bugs. I have created another thread announcing this fix.
Snapshot builds are only for our brave testers, so if you are currently running Vivaldi 2.6 (Stable), please DO NOT install this (or any other) Snapshot build. Vivaldi 2.7 is nearing release, so you should also receive a fix for this crash very soon.
If you are currently testing Vivaldi Snapshots, please confirm whether or not this fix is working for you.

FYI, Vivaldi 2.7 has been released with a fix for this crash, along with many other important bug fixes and enhancements from the Vivaldi team.
