Access keys and how to use them in Vivaldi
-
Access keys let you use keyboard shortcuts to view some sites (like Wikipedia). In Vivaldi 2.2 we make it easy for you to discover this little-known accessibility feature.

Do you use access keys?
Nope, sorry... Mouse for me, not kb.

I use access keys (accelerator keys) on menus very often, but never on websites.
I want to see access keys on dialogues too. It is a big time-saver for accessing frequently used features. For example, to switch the position of Tabs from Top to Left, users should be able to type Alt+P, Alt+T, Tab, Alt+L

While reading this article I used Vivaldi with German locale but didn't notice that I was using the "wrong" browser (I had an English version open in background too), so I typed F2 and entered "show w" in English - and it worked!
It showed "Zugriffstasten der Webseite anzeigen" in the list!
I cross checked with German, just to make sure that QC isn't "English only" and typed "zug" - and it worked too!
Now we only need that for the settings window|page and helping people in the forums who use different locales will be much easier:
Just ask them to type the English expression and look at the results ... -
I think, the cheatsheet should be
modalModeless, to stay visible and be able to work with the page.Mod Edit: To use the correct term and add a link.

@burbuja: Modal would be bad because modal would block typing on the site. I could imagine a web panel which always shows the shortcuts of the active tab instead.

@QuHno Yes, this is what I meant, but I used a wrong term for it. Or like the preferencies window at least.

Would be nice to support this as well. -
