Drag Image to add Note Attachment
-
What
Drag an image onto a note to add it as an attachment
Use Case
I make a new note of a receipt and include an image of a signature that is attached to it.
I copy the text to a new note.
I drag the image of the signature onto the clip symbol and it is added as an attachment.
I can click the image to view my local copy of it, as it is now saved as an attachment.
How it works right now
I drag an image to a note, and it either:
- doesn't do anything
- dumps the image as base64 text, which I can't easily view
- if I put the bas64 as the attached URL, I can't open it as it gets 'http' prepended to it
- it dumps the URL of the image, which is of no use if I know the image will expire soon.
I could use the screenshot feature, but that doesn't get the image at its original resolution / format.

I agree, and this could be 'easily' done given how the notes already use markdown and preview then.
My Sugesstion: drag and drop dropdown
Users would simply drag an image to the note
As soon as the user lifts the finger a dropdown shows up in place with 'embed image' and 'attach image'. Clicking outside of the dropdown cancels the action.
Both are pasted as markdown embed images:
![name/description](url link) -> as embeded image![name](uri link) -> as attachment
When dropping as attachment the image is downloaded/added as an attachment on the botton/clip like normal attachments are - a file saved in the cache/data, but then the text pastes a uri (link to file) to where the attachment is saved.
