Pinned tabs losing login upon syncing, after 1.15>2.0 upgrade
-
@astro46 It's clear, but it's not the way Vivaldi and sync are supposed to work. And it's not the way they work here. My sync (multiple versions, multipl machines "just works" here, and every signed-in version, including those signed in on ten (10) pinned tabs stay signed in while synced.

do you have a list of what files/folders are syncing? perhaps there are some I need to add or subtract.

@astro46 Your best clue is vivaldi://sync-internals

I wonder if this is related to being intermittently logged out of discord, which I have in a pinned tab. I've noticed that since about 2.0 on one machine (I. E. Not from moving files about manually).
It seems to happen most frequently when the browser doesn't close in the expected manner.

logged out of discord? what does this mean?
I close all open programs before syncing. The procedure isn't any different from before 2.0.

@astro46 Discord is a messaging website I use. I thought the random logouts might be related, as it seems to have started in a similar time frame to the issues you describe.

Discord cookies could be malformed. The state of discord cookies should affect your other cookies in no way whatever.
If you're looking at files to edit or delete, I would say don't bother. All sync data and tracking, so far as I can tell, is in a single file - and you can't edit it.
Your best bet is to start out again with clean profiles, and stop manually transferring data, if you want to use sync,

I seem to have fixed the problem. After some experimentation, not syncing the Cookies file between computers has allowed login for pinned sites to be maintained. Interestingly, I continue to sync the Login Data file, which I thought would solve the problem if I didn't sync it, but no the problem contined. Also the file is supposed to be encrypted and not usable on a different machine.

@astro46 Whatever works for you, then. I sync cookies through the Vivaldi Sync service, and my various instances of Vivaldi stay logged in to things.
