Configurable address toolbar and finer grained control on muting – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1369.6
-
@pesala: Ha, good catch! Thanks!
-
There is a radio show that I wanted to record. Since there is no audio file to download I have to download the stream (right click on the .mp3-Link and select save link as...). In past snapshots that never was a problem. The latest snapshot however cancels the download immediately after I chose a filename. Guess I have to stick to MS Edge for this download. [Win 10 64 Bit]
-
@fendar the link shows me an html5 player and it's actually playing, but if I rightclick/save as (ctrl-s) it starts downloading.
-
@ian-coog: Oh I haven't tried it that way.
But now the download works again as usual... Is there a feature for Vivaldi functions "stay broken until user comments about it on the forums?"^^ Anyway, thanks for the input. -
Sooo, 3 days have passed, and no one mentioned the calendar button from the screenshot?
-
@nekomajin We have a fight club kind of rule not to talk about it.
-
@pafflick: Speaking of, is there a list of available internal urls, like vivaldi://sync-internals ?
-
@pafflick: Next time some hint at mail, please!
-
I've just noticed that the issue with disappearing favicons for web panels seems to be gone. Can anyone confirm?
-
@stevekong Try
vivaldi://vivaldi-urls/
-
@stevekong Yes, i have noticed ever since this update that some of my persistent WP vanishing icons have remained good. Tis quite nice.

Does anyone know of issues with time zones in Vivaldi 2.2? I've tried searching the forums but not found anything useful.
I use a Zimbra mail client in the browser, which has always worked fine, but in recent times, my email messages are reported in GMT or UTC time I think, instead of local time - though recipients are reporting seeing my emails at odd times as well, so the issue may not just be in display.
An old version of Chrome I have (42) has had no issues, and I just installed Vivaldi 2.1 (standalone installation) and it too seems fine.
I also just updated my normal instance of Vivaldi from 2.2.1360 I think to 2.2.1369.6 (32-bit), and now the message times reported are better - they're in my time zone, but seem ignorant of the fact we're on Daylight Savings Time at present (ie, they are one hour behind).
If anyone's making changes in the time zone area, my feedback is that they're almost there, in my case at least!

PS - this is on Windows 7 Pro
-
Thank you for the fixes
-
my home page is snapshot -- very important
-
we can search in address bar, in search bar, to have a search possibility in speed dial is really not necessary, I hope for an option to disable it, like in Opera presto
-
we need the possibility to reorganise the buttons in address bar per drag and drop.
-
-
@burbuja The possbility to remove the search field in Speed Dial already exists. Simply uncheck it in Settings/search.
-
@burbuja said in Configurable address toolbar and finer grained control on muting – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1369.6:
we can search in address bar, in search bar, to have a search possibility in speed dial is really not necessary
An user could decide to NOT enable search on address bar and NOT show the search field, so that speed dial search would be the only search field for him.
It's all about configurability, and I'm all ok with it. -
A message from our friends Microsoft: Vivaldi is not displayed as an option in the default apps settings in Windows, thus it is not possible to set it as a default browser if one wishes so. Windows 10, 64bit, 1803. Vivaldi 64bit.
-
@kocho Is the message public? if so, could you provide a link, please?
-
@luetage: nope, that was a sarcastic reference to a similar blog post years ago (A message to our friends or something) Ask mr. von Tetzchner
-
@gwen-dragon: it's for all users, not stand-alone, and it has always been this way. Maybe this is related to Windows version, I don't know, but I know what I see
