Vivaldi - a one time use browser

give up on Vivaldi
Great advice from moderator. I bet it will bring more people to Vivaldi.
But before I give up on Vivaldi I've got one question. How are snapshot number generated? I always wondered what they mean. -
The only reason I say "give up on Vivaldi" is that I have never seen a positive comment from you. You appear to do nothing but gripe and complain and denigrate the browser. I could be wrong, and you might have posted something constructive, but if so, I've missed it. If Vivaldi makes you miserable, both you and Vivaldi would be happier apart. If I'm wrong, and you see some promise and really want to pursue it, then by all means ignore me and do so. But first you will have to get your OS to accept an installation and run it.
As to how the numbers come about, 1. is the major version number, 3. is the minor version number, 534. is related to the number of days since the first Technical Preview was considered for release, I think, and 3 means the third build of this exact version built on this exact day.

FWIW, I sometimes close Vivaldi and many vivaldi.exe processes remain running in the background. It usually does not happen but happens enough to be somewhat annoying. I am on Windows 7.

That used to happen to me a year ago or more, but not any more. But not on a regular close - only in case of a crash. It appears there are some systems that take a very long time to close down Vivaldi background processes, or that sometimes can't do it at all. It doesn't seem to have one, single predictable cause, and the developers are not able to replicate that problem at this time.

Thank you, Ayespy, for your reply. I am doing a regular close. There is no crash. As you say, though, the persistent vivaldi.exe processes after a close of Vivaldi are not predictable. Vivaldi is a very nice browser, nevertheless and reminds of the old Opera with the Presto engine. I think the current Opera browser is a bit more superior and stable, though. Opera seems lighter and more responsive and is kinder to battery life, too. I have more issues with Chrome extensions in Vivaldi than I do in Opera, also.
