120.000 forum users... are we ready?
-
In a couple of days, the Vivaldi forum users count will reach 120.000.
Are we ready for that?
Do we know if :- all the rooms are clean and tidy?
- the beds are well made?
- the garden is well maintained and the hedges well trimmed?
- the fridges are full enough with food and drinks?
- we have enough garlands and confetti?
- the fireworks are ready?
- the ballroom will be big enough?
We are a bit in a hurry and we don't know yet who is in charge of what. Do we have a detailed tasklist for the event?
I can see the house maid is still preparing and putting makeup but... well... not sure we'll be ready on time.
Edit to read in a couple of hours... :
16 to go... no final countdown for me I'm afraid... I'm falling asleep... But the ceremony is now ready!120.000 users? No problem.
You are all warmly welcome inside.
Feel at home but, beware, it doesn't mean you have to be directly too much at ease because, in the Vivaldi Kingdom, everything is locally handmade with taste, care and great attention for details.
The Vivaldi Team citizens take time to have the purest materials, the best silks and, in general, the finest norwegian royal quality is chosen especially for you. You’ll eat caviar daily. Be prepared for it.
Do you need something in particular? Don't hesitate to let it know. The guests are listened to and their desires are to be delievered "when it's ready" as we are used to say here.
Are you lost? The house is too big for you? Don't panic, there is always someone around, day and night, to guide you or to help you.Enjoy your stay in the Vivaldi palace, you won't regret it.

Can you tell us the date? :p
-
@lamarca Based on the speed of new user creations we see these last weeks, I would say Tuesday at the latest...
-
@ornorm Statistics. Nice shot.
I have a missing friend able to tell you the hour.Alea jacta est
-
@ornorm Oh thank goodness, for a moment i had failed to Don't Panic, for fear that it might be Thursday... I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
-
@steffie Ooooops, I'm missing that one due to my lack of knowledge about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy I didn't read... Shame on me. I should try to find it in French if it is worth it (because I think I already saw a couple of comments on this forum referring to that book if I'm not mistaken).
-
No luck. This is all.
I want the 120,000 members countdown threadJanuary Statistics
New members = 18339 Max. members in a day = 879 Min. members in a day = 388 Daily average = 591 Percentage increase = 9.35% **/**

@lamarca Where did you get those figures? Would be great to have the last ones because I'm pretty sure the "percentage increase" would be much more interesting.
-
@ornorm An up for the word figure:) In a tech forum
Ever met @sgunhouse? He was one of those figures. The guy from statistic is @Tamil ( check his id ), he broke the forum post counter. -
@lamarca Already "met" him in the forum but not in real life
Nice work from Tamil!
Figures? What is the word used in tech forums? -
@ornorm Never met any online friend in real life. sgunhouse lives in "Flag City", Tamil in Tamil Nadu.
Figure is not frequently used by English speakers in the context. Hence it's not your mother tongue.
People can say I am an idiot. However, I will not injury. My English is not for chat -
Tamil is minimalist. He can use icon and you got the message.
-
@lamarca Not a problem at all Lamarca. I just wanted to learn a new word... that's why I was asking.
-
-
@ornorm The five novels are translated in French and there are worth it. You shall read them.

Le guide du voyageur galactique

Le dernier restaurant avant la fin du monde
-

Only a couple? You should read more posts by @steffie
-
@hlehyaric Thanks a lot for this. I know what to read next (after the +/- 60 books I still have to read that are waiting in my bookcase... buying too many and not reading fast enough )
-
You know, I never did read any of those books. While my French isn't great, I have no trouble translating the titles back to English. Not that I recognize that last one.
But yeah, Tamil was the undisputed king of MyO. The rest of us couldn't get close.

At the risk of embarrassing someone there was one guy on MyOpera who surpassed Tamil's post count. Tamil's blog was a tour de force but there were several others on My Opera who contributed greatly to the community.
