Web Access to Synchronised Data
-
Please consider allowing users to access their synchronized data (Notes, bookmarks, etcetera) via a web interface. For times when we are unable to use Vivaldi browsers...
-
@slick1 There are already plans for something along those lines - no ETA.
-
@ayespy And what about end-to-end encryption? Users will have to type their encryption password into form that will execute decryption on server side? It would decrease security level IMO.
-
@rotfl As to web access, I would not know. I know the current scheme incorporates end to end encryption.
-
Could 2FA work for web access? I doubt you'd look at it often, so I wouldn't consider it much of a hassle.
Seems like the 2FA for Vivaldi accounts should also be used for setting up Sync in the browser.
-
@Omen_20 2FA seems like it would be a separate issue and I don't think that's what is blocking this.
The big issue is that for web access to sync you would need client-side website/javascript code to decode whatever format chrome uses to sync its stuff, and only then could you decrypt it using your passphrase.
2FA would only be needed for when you authenticate to login.vivaldi.net and I don't see that being a blocker for this.

The current OTP code by email for unrecognized logins is better than username and password alone, but I really hope to see at least a basic authentication app implementation like TOTP. Is something like this still on your road map?

Hi,
Opera has this site which is very useful to access that Data.
Something similar would be very comfortable.
Thank you.

@zalex108 I am definitely up-voting this and the Opera example is great
