🍾Welcome to the 900 new forum users (in the last 48 hours!) 🎆
-
I sometimes go to the users page of the forum to have a look of the number of pages it contains. Yesterday, we were at +/- 3.829 pages of 30 users. Today, certainly because of the launch of version 2.0, we have at least 360 new users on board.
So, just a word to wish to those new users a good experience with Vivaldi and to welcome them warmly.
I hope you'll enjoy using this browser and I'm sure you'll find the desired help and answers to your questions on this forum thanks to the Vivaldi team, the Moderators, the Ambassadors, and the other users.
And congratulations to Vivaldi! You deserve to have all those new users.
Edit : more than 900 new users in 48 hours! Yesssss!
-
@ornorm Yeah and that's only the users that actually logged into the forum. I can only imagine how many more users are joining the Community site to access Sync without checking on the Forum. And the wave of people started coming in about 7 hours ago, if we check again in 17 hours it should be a lot more.

How do you know that?
-
@luetage You're right. In the past, I was using the number of people registered on the forum to have a rough idea of the number of Vivaldi users in general (because I couldn't find the information on browsers ranking websites). And, with a small extrapolation of 1 registered user for 100 users, we could have more than 10M users (but I'm maybe far from the reality)...
-
Updated: Only 21,041 users have actually posted on the forum.
-
@pafflick Because I had a longer discussion about this with one of the community managers at the start of the year and this assumption was finally confirmed by a developer. It's the number of people that have logged into the Forum at least once – the actual number of community members far exceeds the number of users visible in https://forum.vivaldi.net/users
-
@pesala 2075? Not 20975 (699x30+5)?
-
@luetage Yeah, I figured it out. Although, I didn't actually have to ask anyone - I just simply created a new account for my Snapshot and checked if it appears on the list...
-
-
@hlehyaric True!
-
@ornorm I guess it's just a typo.
-
@ornorm The information is probably outdated, but the company website states 200k+ community members and 800k+ active Vivaldi users. Maybe Vivaldi will or has reached the milestone of 1 Million active users already.
-
@ornorm It's just a temporary blip in activity for a day or two. Thirty-two posts in the last 24 hours is rather a lot, not to mention the other stuff that goes on behind the scenes.
-
@ornorm Why not? Usually, I have around 20-30 unread threads when I visit the forums. Today I had nearly 70
-
@pafflick @Pesala I really have a lot of respect for your daily and crazy work. I just take the opportunity of this off-topic thread to thank you, really, for your contributions that are so helpful for us all .
I mean it because I see how difficult it can sometimes be.
And you keep doing it with a lot of patience, a lot of understanding and a lot of time you just give to us, the users, which means less time to take care of what could be more important for you... YOU! -
@quinca71 Stunning isn't it?
-
-
@hlehyaric Perhaps, but it might be just the change of major version number.
-
Of course sync has been released, now, and you can't sync without a Vivaldi profile, so I suppose there were users who weren't on the forums, who now have no choice but to make a profile. There's that... Not to be a Debbie Downer.
That said, I follow the amount of posting on the forums, and it appears to have more than doubled in the last couple of days.
-
Yes, 85 unread threads right now and it's 11 PM. I'm going to bed now, sorry...
