List of webs that do not accept Vivaldi
-
...without using UA switcher.
There are still pages with browser sniffer, to be outdated or intentionally do not accept Vivaldi.
For this reason I have thought that users can list here the pages that discriminate against Vivaldi unjustifiably.Google sites only admit the classic style, not the new one
-
@catweazle Would it be possible to pin this topic so we can easily come back to it when necessary?
-
@gwen-dragon Thanks a lot Gwen. I'm pretty sure it can be quite handy for the community.
-
-
@catweazle I thought an Ambassador could do it as well. Anyway, Gwen did give me an immediate favor here
-
So is there a list to add to? I have one to add.

Here

[EDIT] using
Vivaldi 2.0.1309.25 (Official Build) (64-bit) -
@Catweazle what about updating your first post with every new site in the list?

I will add the sites that do not allow me to enter with Vivaldi, as I find them.
But this thread is designed so that all users post the site they find, as well as @greybeard -
@catweazle @potmeklecbohdan it would be awesome to have a kind of google doc'ish feature in Vivaldi forum for this kind of specific thread. Otherwise, it's true that it could not be that handy for forum visitors to have to go through each comment to see the different findings...

Important: tell the developers of these misconfigured sites about:
- Vivaldi - it is based on Chrome anyway
- Why user agent sniffing is bad
- To consider using JavaScript to query features instead
Simply placing an item in the list here will do nothing to alleviate the situation, other than making other forum users aware of sites that don't work properly.
-
@lonm Good point. Thanks for that.

It is true that the links in this forum do not get much, but they can be useful for the user to know which websites need a UA switcher
@Ornorm. the GDoc is not a bad idea, maybe it would be better to make a list than this thread with both Off Topics in between
Maybe I create a list, as with extensions, depending on how many sites are reported. -
@catweazle Yes, it was based on @potmeklecbohdan suggestion. I just thought : "poor Catweazle, this would become a long and boring task for him"
We might maybe require, for those kind of threads, to have a new forum feature to encompass such lists at the top of the threads. -
Yes, it may be an option to add something like that to the forum, but with GDocs it is equally possible, since you can share collaboratively, In the extensions, many of the entries are made by other users and anyone can add the extension that he likes it and it works well with Vivaldi
-
@catweazle Just created a forum feature request just in case...
-
@greybeard Here is another one- Shopify, the largest ecommerce site provider:
-
@gwen-dragon You need to have a Shopify account. Try to log-in and there will be a blank page instead of the dashboard with the following message:
"Your browser needs to be updated
Youโre using version 2.1.1317.4 of Vivaldi, which is not supported by Shopify. If you are unsure of how to upgrade, we recommend using the Google Chrome browser, since it can update automatically.
Get Google Chrome"
-
@rhk they need to whitelist Vivaldi, they're doing something wrong. Tell them if you are a customer.
