Browser on problem
-
This same problem has been happening from the first preview where the browser is only 50% sized until you hit the button at the top right corner to grow or fill the screen. Am using 167.2 Win 8 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit, on Asus Transformer and Lenovo Laptop same thing happens on both, see image. I am not able to tell from the image, what problem you are experiencing.
-
I restated the question, it starts out too small in size on the screen.

How very odd. My copies of Vivaldi on Window 7 or 8, including my copy on Win7 on an older Lenovo laptop, all start in whatever size and position they were at when I closed them. None of them refuse to start maximized, if that's how I left them.
Anyone else having trouble with Vivaldi refusing to start maximized?

Try to close the windows with the red X button while pressing CTRL, and see if it helps

Mine (Win32, Vista) remembers size for first window (usually the one from my last session), but any new windows which I open DURING a session start out smaller than max.I would prefer new windows to start out at whatever size my currently focused window is.
~This, instead, is what I'm seeing too

Tried your suggestions no effect, tried adjusting resolutions, no effect, tried setting Native Window, nothing, turn off and on search box no effect, same effect on both machines of which each runs entirely different OS and one is a tablet and one is a 15 laptop as well as being a 32 bit and 64 bit system, about as unrelated as possible yet both have the same issue when opening the browser. Must be Gremlins.
-
Must be - cuz it behaves properly here on Win7, 8, 10, and Lubuntu.
-
Only thing I can think might help is a clean install.
OR, maybe you are using some extension(s) that drive this behavior?
-
Did that on the laptop day before yesterday and the tablet was bought just yesterday so I think we have two clean installs.
Like I said, this is the only browser yet program I run that does this if they are going for unique then this is!
Just uninstalled Vivialdi completely and re- installed it and no change, but it did what all Chrome clones do and when it uninstalled, it messed up my Opera Developer….classic example of browser inbreeding!
