Close Tabs to Left/Right of Tab Stack
-
Say I have 10 tabs stacked into one and I'm currently on #5.
Now, If I right-click on that tab and choose close tabs to the right, it will not only close the tabs to the right in the tab-stack, but also stacked tabs 6-10.
I think that should be optional.
When right-click menu detects a stacked tab there should be another group of options for closing tabs to the right/left/etc except those in that current stack.
Hopefully what I just described makes sense

@vulture I edited your post to clarify what I think you intended.
In my opinion, the simplest fix would be to have an option in Settings, Tabs, Tab Features, Tab Stacking, for "Close Tabs to Right/Left of Tab Stack."
The context menu is already quite long enough and I think users will prefer one behaviour or the other, not having to choose one or the other every time.

I'm here to upvote this, but offer another way of describing the issue in my (closed as it's duplicate) thread here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/56877/close-tabs-to-the-right-and-two-row-tabs?_=1613711020329
Basically @vulture's suggestion is for the first row, and I was coming at it looking at the second row's behaviour.
I think @Pesala's suggestion would work great to resolve this issue, and making it an option is the perfect "Vivaldi" way of fixing it.
Edit: I just realized this original thread is 2 years old. It's still quite relevant!

@kingsteved I just came to request the same thing, when you're in your new second row tab stack and select "close tabs to the right" It's not self contained to the second row, and closes everything else in the first row on the right as well. I
I think @Pesala's suggestion would work as well.

Now, with the two-level tab stack system, I think this feature is even more needed. I love the two-level tab stacks, but I frequently close a whole bunch of tabs /tab stacks I didn't mean to, and it's super annoying, as there's no easy way to restore them.

@meatnordrink It is fairly easy to restore up to 100 closed tabs by using drag and drop in the Window Panel.

@pesala Excellent suggestion, thank you!
