Home Button for Pinned Tabs Should Rewind to the First Page
-
I have 4 pinned tabs with the most visited websites that I care about, while browsing one of them I may do a search via the address bar and go on reading about something else, now my pinned tab shows something random, it would be intuitive to just click the home icon to go back to the originally pinned webpage, not the speed dial or whatever the homepage would be.
I know that probably a couple of hits on the rewind button would take me back (I actually hide the fast forward and rewind buttons because I never use them) but it's way more convenient to just hit the home icon and go back.

This would put the functionallty of the pinned tab controls Inline with how they work In Panels.

Here's a workaround that I use to achieve this:
- Open a page which contains URL that I want to use as the "home" page of a pinned tab. If there's none, then I just save it as a bookmark.
- Click on the URL to open it in a new tab.
- Pin the newly opened tab.
Now, every time you want to go to the first page (after browsing in the pinned tab for a while), just long press the "Back" button and click on the first item from the dropdown list or click on the "Rewind" button (for those who keep them enabled - I'm also not one of them ).

I'd like to bounce up this topic, because I was just about to create the same feature request.
It would be even nicer to configure for pinned tabs individual home pages. -

I want an option to prevent this from happening in the first place!
My ideal would be: When you do, on a pinned tab, something that normally would take you to another page, Vivaldi would open a new tab stacked with the pinned tab instead of changing the webpage of the pinned tab. When you are done with the new pages, you just close the new tab and the original pinned tab would remain intact.
I suppose that this feature has been already requested. [Edit: As @Pesala points out, it is requested: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/25070/locking-pinned-tabs . Thanks @Pesala . What is not explicitly requested there is that the new tab from a pinned tab be stacked with the pinned tab.]

Thank you for your request. As it has received few votes over 4 years, it is now going to be archived.
