Twitter videos never play
-
In the months I've been using Vivaldi, it has never played video on Twitter. I'm on version 1.16.1183.3 (Official Build) (64-bit). Is it something others experience? There have been many updates but this issue remains for me.

@iarla Does vivaldi://gpu show that GPU hardware acceleration is unavailable? If this is the case (either because hardware acceleration has been disabled in Preferences or if your Mac's graphics processor has been blacklisted by the underlying Chromium code) then certain types of Video (currently) will not play in Vivaldi.
You can try overriding the GPU blacklist -- it's the first flag in vivaldi://flags -- to restore video playback but beware that this can cause instability when rendering web pages... since the GPU was blacklisted in the first place to work around bugs and incompatibilities between the Chromium code and the underlying graphics driver.

@xyzzy thanks for the link and you're right. It's "software only" rendering. Some of the "problems detected" show:
Intel HD 3000 driver crashes frequently on Mac: 592130, 661596
Disabled Features: flash_stage3d, gpu_compositing, gpu_rasterization, flash3d, accelerated_webgl2, accelerated_2d_canvas, accelerated_video_decode, accelerated_webgl, flash_stage3d_baseline
Some GPUs on Mac can perform poorly with GPU rasterization. Disable all known Intel GPUs other than Intel 6th and 7th Generation cards, which have been tested.: 613272, 614468
Disabled Features: gpu_rasterization
Rendering artifacts on older macOS releases and Intel GPUs: 794819
Disabled Features: accelerated_2d_canvas, gpu_rasterizationI'll try an override and keep a careful eye. Thanks again.
