Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3

@dovelove Better disable auto-update on snapshot when used as main browser
Well, few snap and you can back to v again -
@hadden89 As a rule, my updates never seem to break anything.
-
@ayespy In most cases, I agree with you, but some v-users tend to use snapshot like if it were stable; so why not use an "old" snapshot as a post-stable, then?
I obviously test the latest version, but my main profile is often few snapshot behind, especially when parts of UI/blink are updated. -
@joelyoung said in Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3:
Due to so many issues being reported, I've skipped this version of SS
I feel so sorry for the Devs. So many complaints of problems from many Vusers, yet my experience stands in utter contrast - i'm [continuing to] having a delightful time with my V-SS. How do the Devs even begin to make sense of such divergent user experiences? Beats me, but i'm so grateful to them.
-
@hadden89 I use SS as if it's stable because I feel that's the best way to test it. I don't have enough time in the day to stop my normal activities and switch over to SS to test this or that. So why not do it in real time as I go about my normal Web routine?
I realize this isn't the ideal scenario for everyone, but it works best for me. It would be great to stay a couple snapshots behind for my "stable" version, but it's just not doable in my situation. -
@joelyoung I used to use Snapshot as my default browser, but now my default is the internal test version, updated daily.
-
@ayespy I wouldn't mind being a part of that action. I was just formulating a plan that would let me use V uninterrupted in case of any showstoppers. Mainly, to turn on Sync in the stable version, so all my data is there in case one of the Snapshots breaks too badly.

@joelyoung You can always apply to the community admins for Sopranos status. They don't accept just anyone, there is an interview process, and there are some restrictions and obligations. I don't know if they need any more internal testers at the moment.
-
@ayespy I would expect some strictness in being a part of that team. I was a beta tester for the vBulletin forum software for many years, and I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, etc. Can't hurt to ask.

@joelyoung There is a ND among other things.
