      Hi folks,

Since 1.15, I cannot hear music from Napster anymore.

When I press play, the icon for playback starts, but the music never starts buffering or playing.

I already tried deleting all cookies and disabling all my add-ons. In Firefox the site works perfectly.
      Can anyone help?

Mod Edit: Fixed title and added link.

Napstar? You should really provide a link next time. I suppose you mean Napster. Didn't know this was still a thing even.

Sorry, you are correct. Its https://app.napster.com/ and it is still a thing. In Germany the Aldi (the discounter) uses it as a rebranded service.
I already made a ticket at napster and I am waiting for a response.
About half a year ago they still used flash in browser, so it was useless to me anyway. Then they switched to HTML5 and it worked perfectly.
As I stated before it does not work anymore and I cannot figure out why.
I found out that if you press play, nothing happens other than the icons show playback. If you click on Pause then, the tracks stops at the correct time as if there had been playback. So if you press play and pause after 5 seconds, the marker pauses correctly at second 5. But it is not possible to hear anything or even see a progress while "playing".

It still does not work with 1.15.1147.47 or with the 1.16 preview build.

@pedestrian Hard to test, the site doesn't only want a login, but also credit card access – no one will be willing to do this just to test a playback.

Post as much info about the player as you can.

If it is relevant, the clips on https://us.napster.com/music play for me.

@pedestrian said in No Playback with Napster:

Rebranded or embedded? I wonder if you have activated Strict site isolation in Flags?

@tbgbe Thank you, but thats not the case. I even enabled it and disabled again. Still no playback.
And the service is not rebrandet. You just pay for Aldi and the Android app is different. However you can use your account on the real napster-site.

@luetage Could you give me tipps how to obtain what information exactly?
I asked the napster-support about the issue, but the only answer I received (three times!) is that the browser is not supported and I shall try a downgrade to the last version that worked (NICE TIPP!). 🙂

@pedestrian Tell them that Vivaldi is a Chromium browser and that they should better fix it or you won't continue using their services. After all you are a paying customer.
