      This would be a hugely useful feature for me as well. I usually have a window open for each project I'm researching, plus tabs for general purpose research, and not being able to title them is almost a dealbreaker. Given the whole schtick of Vivaldi is customizability it's a little sad this doesn't exist yet. It's available on Chrome/Chromium/New Edge, and there's an extension available to enable it on Firefox, which I've been using for ages.

      I actually duplicated this in another topic. I figured someone already beat me to it. I would really like this as I do thematic research and have 6 different windows with a dozen or less tabs in each. Far too often, I have to exercise cognitive skills to identify which window I need to go to.

      Window names would be a great productivity boost.

      For those interested, there is a Chrome Extension in beta called, appropriately, Window Namer and Restorer. I am testing it out and it appears to do exactly what this topic requests. A couple of observations:

      • It's in beta: Caveat emptor
      • The names have a maximum length of 8 characters
      • Window names are viewable when you Alt-Tab (or the Finder equivalent) to display all windows on the desktop and when you do a Move Tab. If you are in a window you must click on the extension to see the name of that window.
      • Window restore is said to display the window name as well but I haven't tested this out
      • The Window name does not appear for some pages such as Chrome-specific tabs (such as chrome://history/ etc)

      I have been using it for a short while and it is a godsend.

      Do we know something new about development of this feature? Its already more than 4 months since Chromium revealed this and literally any reaction from Vivaldi. I really don't understand.

      I'd also like this feature.

      I use WindowManager to set windows sizes and positions. For apps that have multiple windows under the same class, the only way to have different settings for each window is to have persistent and unique window names for each of them.

      For now I'm using Window Title Changer, but it'd be much better to have it natively on the app.

      +1, this would be very useful. Are there any updates on this? Is it being developed?

      +1 I'd love to see this feature! In particular, I'd like to see the window name appear in the "Move tab" context menu. Right now, windows in that menu are named based on their active tab title and it takes significant effort for me to figure out which is which.

      Maybe I don't understand what you said. 😕

      A = D:\Vivaldi\vivaldi.exe
      B = D:\2Vivaidi\2vivaldi.exe←Rename

      A : class name = Chrome_WidgetWin_1
      B : class name = Chrome_WidgetWin_1
      A: exe name =vivaldi .exe
      B: exe name =2vivaldiexe

      Should this be tagged Windows? It's about Vivaldi for desktop in general, because "Windows OS" (in various versions since the 1980s) isn't the same as windows used on many Operating systems since the 1970s ...

      @Pesala ?

      Currently it's my top required feature in Vivaldi.
      There's another equally important missing feature - multirow tabs, but I can achieve it using mods.
      So it's really what is really missing in Vivaldi.

      It could be a workaround but it has several disadvntages.

      1. You couldn't yeasily move tabs from one window to another. Instead you have to copy and paste urls.
      2. You should remember to reopen all instances of the browser.
      3. To rename windows you still have to use a 3rd party applications.

      As @barbudo2005 mentioned, Chrome has this already - hope it comes to Vivaldi too.

      Since Vivaldi prides itself on its flexible tabs implementation, I was a bit shocked that this feature didn't already exist. This feature request is now almost 4 years old. Firefox has had nameable windows for as long as I can remember, Edge has them, Brave has them, and Chrome has them.

      As far as I'm aware, Vivaldi is the only commonly used browser I've tried that doesn't have this feature.

      For what it's worth, this for me is a show stopper, so I'm ending my trial of Vivaldi as a result. It's a shame, because many people I know are frustrated and looking for a browser to move to/settle on. I certainly wouldn't recommend Vivaldi at this point.

      Damn I discovered this very useful feature on Edge which seems to be part of Chromium sourcecode for like half a year. How come it is not available in Vivaldi?
      Is there a flag to enable?

      It's a shame that even Edge has such a feature now, not to say about Chrome which have it for maybe like a year or more now, and the most advanced browser Vivaldi still doesn't have it. And it's already 4 years for this feature request.
