Using Vivaldi for the first time
-
Hi, just started using Vivaldi on linux and it is great! The only problem I encountered is it wouldn't launch and I had been using it without a problem. I had to reinstall it.
I really like this browser and it reminds of how easy it was to use Chrome when it was first introduced. -

That makes two of us. Vivaldi is unique:)

It's not clear. Do you click on the launcher (the V icon) and Vivaldi does not start.

Reinstalling fixed the start up issue, I guess
Two questions: your distro and Vivaldi version.

Welcome Lydias!!
Hope you continue to enjoy using V.
I have been using it since the first "Alpha" release some 3 or 4 years back(?). It has come a long way and is a great alternative to the big g.

Welcome, I hope that after knowing this great navigator, you are going to ask yourself how you have been able to surf the net until now with another browser.

It's the new user Intro. Hence topic moved from

@pesala
It takes awhile for it to launch. Possibly my default browser is interfering with it launching or the firewall is slowing it down. I put an icon in the favorites tray and all the launchers stopped working. It is working fine right now. Thanks for your reply. -
@lamarca
I had momentary trouble understanding how to line up forum post replies. Vivaldi browser on my Linux Mint Rosa 17.3 is working very well. It loads slowly and I won't put any more launch icons in the tray.
Once on the internet it runs very fast! Faster than firefox. I received other posts with links to learn about the browser details.
Speed is great but I am mostly interested in browser/internet security. -
@lydias The launch icon is a know issue commonly present on Debian derivative users. I enter the command line in terminal to run Vivaldi.
