Data upload/download stats on address bar upgrade
-
I fancy vivaldi's feature of showing how many kbs/mbs are currently taking place when loading a new site or link in a tab. But after the page loads, these stats disappear for good. I'm thinking of a feature where when enabled, allows users to see how much data usage a particular website or tab has already consumed.
Example: I open youtube. I watch a clip. It will show that I consumed 69.5MB. When I close the tab, then later on, I open youtube again, the stats will still be there. Then there will be options as to how frequent (e.g., daily) these stats will reset to 0. This will be really helpful for people like me who have metered connections, who wants to take control and keep watch of how much data is going in and out of the browser, of a site, of a tab.
Blowing this feature up, I'm looking at an idea where I can see a (monthly/daily) chart of how much data has consumed what etc. Just ideas playing inside my head.
Let me know your thoughts. Thank you

@bebotette Would a Page Information Panel provide the information that you need or are you looking for something to monitor bandwidth use? For that, there might be an extension in the Chrome Store.

I'm referring to this particular element, but upgraded.

You can implement this as a custom mod.
.pageload.progress-done .pageload-ticker { opacity: 1; width: 50px; margin-right: 6px; padding-right: 6px; }
This isn't my code, but I'm using it for a long time – if anyone knows the source post please do link.

Thank you for your request. As it has received few votes over 4 years, it is now going to be archived.
