Disable Tab Stacking when Moving Tabs over each other.

BUT: Keep them enabled when using the CTRL or SHIFT selection.
I keep stacking by mistake with the "move" method, while the latter is much more controllable.
I only see option to completely disable tab stacking. Thank you.

@kallon I think it will be better to have a modifier key to disable tab-stacking.
You can now assign shortcuts to move the Active Tab left or right, in Settings, Keyboard, Tabs.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit •Snapshot 1.16.1177.5 (64-bit)

Or a modifier key to enable it, better on my end.

+1 on this. I make this mistake almost every day. Dragging tabs to the top makes a tab stack by mistake. I'd like to be able disable it.

@steverhodes One can disable tab-stacking in Settings, but that completely disables the feature.
Another workaround is to disable "Make Tab Stack with Mouse Drag in Settings, Panel. Then use the Windows panel for organising tabs.

@kallon I would love to see two very separate modes which make tab moves easier in either case:
- By default or with a modifer key (
SHIFT
,CTRL
,ALT
, whatever...): only move the tabs, never stack them. - With an other modifer key (
SHIFT
,CTRL
,ALT
, whatever...): only stack the tabs, never move them. When dragging a tab, the stack would be made depending on the position of the mouse cursor, ie if it is on an other tab underneath or not.
Using the mouse cursor position for the creation of the tab stack would be much easier: currently, a stack is made depending on how much hovering there is between the tab we are dragging and the other one. And I find this very "slippery" and imprecise...
- By default or with a modifer key (

I like to keep tab stacking enabled. But please add an option to disable tab stacking via drag and drop of tabs. Because I don't want to accidentally trigger it when I'm trying to move tabs around.
