New Build 1.0.151.7

  • Checked for update this afternoon and was able to download 1.0.151.7. Did not see anything on the dev page yet or in the forms so I thought I would let everyone know! :woohoo:

Same here, except it notified me on its own that the new ver. was available.

No announcement here or on the blog, yet, so I figured they must still be composing the announcement.

  • I just updated as well - the UI is noticeably faster for me, and Vivaldi as a whole seems to be using slightly less memory per-tab than previous versions :)

Also, there's a button in the Edit drop-down menu that's titled "Paste and Go." That entry doesn't exist in the context menu, and it otherwise doesn't seem to do anything. Was that there in the last version too? I don't recall.

Been there for a few versions. Has not, as yet, ever done anything.

  • @Sajadi:

    1. broken refreshing of bookmark and speed dial tab images

    I can confirm this bug.

    Well that's unfortunate.

  • Has been getting better but still pretty slow UI for me here on windows 10 10049.

  • Got it. Installed flawlessly from check for updates.

  • First impressions.

    1. Fixed some annoying keyboard shortcuts bugs :) :) :)

    2. Some translations finally are visible :)

    3. still no Paste and Go contextual menu :( :( :(

    4. Still broken middle button on Speed Dial's top level (it works inside the folders) :(

For now nothing else to report.

  • I installed the update in two computers: one OK, in the other it loses the open pages, the passwords, everything.

That latter symptom seems common on standalone installs. Have not heard of it much elsewhere.

  • I'm unable to play videos in this build. Keep getting the following message. "Couldn' load plugin". This is happening on almost every site aside from youtube.

interesting… i cannot reproduce this... have no problems with any video i tried (several websites; news, entertainment, sport; even now i am watching a live stream from a floorball match)

    edit: win 7 64bit, vivaldi 32bit

  • @The_Solutor:

    1. Still broken middle button on Speed Dial's top level (it works inside the folders)

I find that it works for me if the speed-dial doesn't have so many bookmarks that I'm able to scroll down on it. I have three bookmark folders set to be my speed dial, which behaves as three pages on the speed dial. The first two folders both have 7 bookmarks, and the first folder has a sub-folder. The third folder contains 29 bookmarks, and it can scroll down. The middle mouse button opens bookmarks in new tabs from the speed dial in the first two folders, but not in the third.

  • May want to reload flash player.

  • @groingo:

May want to reload flash player.

Do you mean closing Shockwave Flash in vivaldi task manager and restarting it, because I tried this and it didn't work. I'm not having this problem in crome or Yandex browser, just on vivaldi, weird.

    Vivaldi 32bit, Windows 8

Not seeing it. All videos fine here, on Win 8.1.

DrGerry, on the computer with the lost profile data, please check if you have a Profile subfolder and a User Data subfolder in the folder you installed Vivaldi. If so, the old profile data should still be in the Profile subfolder and can be copied to the User Data folder.

Well I have 18 items on the top level, both tiles and folders.

None of them works with middle button, but it works all of the items inside the folders.

The regression is there since 2 or 3 version, I don't remember exactly when it started.

I uninstalled the 32bit and installed the 64bit instead and it's working fine now. No idea what the problem was, but ohh well.

Hmm. I half suspected your problem might be 64-bit, because I only run the 32-bit. Maybe it has to do with the bit-width of your plugins.
