Stable and Sync?
-
Any word as to when sync will be available for the Stable version?
I use sync on every snapshot since sync was released. I like sync.
Even though I have a robust backup plan sync makes it so much
easier. All my data is on a server "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". aka "the cloud". -
Sync is not feature complete, that's why it's enable only for snapshots. On Stable is disable by default. Use at your own risk. Type 'vivaldi://experiments' to enable.
-
After enabling the feature, go to: vivaldi://sync-internals to see what's running and what is not.

vivaldi://sync-internals
Wow! That's more than I would have thought. With all of that it's a wonder V made it this far at all.
It boggles my imagination as to how much went/goes into making sync work at all. Yeah, I'm more
than impressed. And to think all I do on start-up is to check to see if there's a cloud icon in
the lower left corner of the GUI. If not go through the two step login. vivaldi(dot)net password then
my sync password. Again...Wow! -
That's really impressive. Have you read the FAQ?

Trying out sync now. Thanks for all the hard work on this feature. I am sure I am not the only one excited on its progress so far.

@carlph If you are running the stable version use sync "at your own risk".
Sync is not a finished product. Getting there but not there yet. That is why
I recommended setting up a standalone to test with.
It's always "better safe than sorry". -
@para-noid Thanks for the heads up! I just use sync for a few login and bookmarks. If it gets lost I still have them synced up in another browser.
