[1.15.1147.23] Vivaldi restarting when external links clicked
dsl101 last edited by Gwen-Dragon
I have Vivaldi (portable) set as my default browser, and since 1.15.1147.23, when I click a link in an external application when Vivaldi is already running, it exits and restarts (with the newly clicked link as a new tab).
Obviously this isn't ideal, as it's several seconds before the browser is responsive again, and any active tabs I had are now unloaded (I have lazy tab loading set).
Anyone else seen this recently?
Yes, for some users that can happen.
It is a known and reported bug.

Thanks. It's really frustrating there isn't a way to search for those—it would surely save a lot of time for both of us
@dsl101 You can search the forum, but the bug-tracker is closed.

@dsl101 , I am having the same issue; very annoying indeed.
Bug was reported 2 days ago as: VB-39450 "Any attempt to open a link in Vivaldi from an external app reliably crashes Vivaldi"

Yeah I'm having the same issue plus it also restarts when opening a new window or tab via right lick (context menu) on the taskbar but it has how problem with opening an incognito/private window.
