Recommendation sought for free web-hosting for non-profit organisations
LadyJane last edited by
I am trying to start a number of non-profit organisations and need some recommendations for free hosting. I haven't started applying for charitable status yet. Unfortunately most hosts offering free hosting for non-profits require the charity to already be registered.
Does anyone have any recommendation who might be a bit more flexible, allowing me to build the websites before applying for charitable status?
The projects I am trying to create are:
An LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender) focussed, and gender-neutral partner-dance club. In the UK, most partner-dancing is cis-normative and hetero-normative: the men tend to lead and the women tend to follow. This leads to an awkward environment for people whose sexuality or gender type differs from the norm: men who want to follow risk harassment or other unpleasant discriminatory treatment. The situation is even worse for transgender people.
An organisation to use computers for good, including:
a distributed computing platform for calculation intensive applications
computer recycling to reduce landfill and provide free computers and software to people on low incomes
Thanks for your time!
