Just like in Firefox. Right now, typing "google" in address bar then Ctrl+Enter would turn into "google.com" and go.

I think Shift+Enter should act the same, but for .net.

I don't know that I'd want *.org specifically, but it would be cool to have the option for additional domain expansions. You can already configure Ctrl+Enter, why not allow configuring another hotkey (whether Shift+Enter or Ctrl+Shift+Enter or something else) for a different domain expansion like *.net, *.org, *.edu, or anything else?

FWIW, you can get Ctrl+Enter to expand to several different things as described in this post. I find it clunkier though than just typing the desired expansion.

These domain expansion keyboard shortcuts should also be duplicated in Quick Commands, to increase consistency in the user experience. Right now there's no quick command domain expansion as far as I know.

The current implementation of multiple domain expansion is very useless as it takes a lot longer than just typing out the desired tld myself. Also it is a privacy issue because it makes the user load a page that is not his intended destination.

Guys, I do also want to see a better implementation for the domain expansion, for that reason I proposed a generalized solution which supposed to solve this issue and other more.

Do you believe it is a satisfying solution (please refer to example no. 2) and do you think it properly encompass the issue discussed here ?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this functionality isn't going to be implemented, given that the regular ctrl+enter for .com expansion has gone away this update (2.9)

@LonM That was not my impression. @ruario said in the RC2 thread

Nonetheless we are considering the situation and how best something like this should work in the modern world.
