Regression fixes and better macOS emoji support – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.15.1137.3

@xyzzy Thank you for your answer.

I think the download panel went to blank again when downloading is in progress.

Thank you for adding a shortcut for the Character Viewer aka Special Characters Ctrl+⌘+[Space]. It works in the Vivaldi UI, and it seems to work in web pages, but first one have to change the focus to some Vivaldi panel.
- Place the cursor in the desired field of the web page
- Click Ctrl+⌘+[Space]
- Wait (apparently nothing happens)
- Go to Panel search field and press Ctrl+⌘+[Space] again
==> Now the Character Viewer shows up in the web page’s field.
Thank you!
Do you plan to add the Edit menu Special Characters… item to the translation file? And to the quick commands?

I noticed some glitching out of YouTube's sound when closing a tab (that's not with the said YouTube video). I think this was also in the previous build. Is it known?
Also, I'm still unable to interact with iframes.
-
@michael_from_germany Last night I checked it again. It is as I described before.
OS: Win7 64-bit Sp1
Vivaldi: Windows 32-bit 1.15Look at the pics.
-
@kened It's a standard being developed in Chromium right now. They have the manpower to do it. Vivaldi can't afford the extra hands to tackle that at this time.

Hi,
On MacBook with 1137 - tapping the trackpad (on any hyperlink on a web page) with two fingers doesn't load the context menu, but attaching a mouse and right clicking works. Have reverted to 1132 for now as it's unusable while this is broken.
-
Hello, with the current build, the browser extension for Amazon does not work anymore.
-
@michael_from_germany: I still use 1.15.1111.3 and videos on that site don't(!) work for me. But I have ghostery installed and I think it's because of that.

In the last few snapshots, pages seems to load slower and slower over time. Really quick after startup, but after a few hours you start noticing the slowdown. A restart fixes the problem. So now I restart Vivaldi several times a day...
Win10x64 Vx64
-
@gwen-dragon: That is a possibility, yes. But I am monitoring all processes on my machine, and nothing noticeable have been showing up for Vivaldi. I will do some more detailed checking next time I notice the slowdown...
-
Vivaldi opens an empty page if a site have a certificate error like NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
After a short restart of Vivaldi the dialog for an unsecure connection will be shown then - sometimes.
Opened Bug Report VB-39121mf
-
@gwen-dragon : So after 7 hours the page load/rendering is noticeably slower (1-3 seconds) than when I started the session. I could not detect any resource issues here. The GPU Process has a memory footprint which is 4 times more than when Vivaldi started, but that is about it. (This value has been going up and down during the whole session).
After a restart everything is quick and snappy again ...
I have attached a screenshot from the Vivaldi Task Manager and another from Sysinternals Process Explorer. -
Is anyone else not able to interact with Google's reCAPTCHA v2 on websites in these newer snapshots? Example at the bottom of the linked page:

@gt500 Yes, it's a known issue, the same here on:
https://m7software.freshdesk.com/support/signupI've just opened Bug report VB-38653 for Snapshot 1.15.1125.3 two weeks ago.

If you try to move a pinned, tiled tab - the order of the tiles randomly changes.
When you restart Vivaldi (from Last session), the order of the tiles within pinned, tiled tabs randomly change.
Been like this since the beginning of tiled tabs.Win7x64&Win10x64 Vx64

@gwen-dragon That's nice to hear. Why did I get no reply from the dev's that it was not reproducible? I did not open the bug report because I was bored. How many other bug reports are closed without informing the reporter? I find this strange.
But thanks gwen-dragon for your reply.
I double checked it with a clean config and it was working there. So I checked a little bit deeper and found that the enabling of "Strict site isolation" was the reason. Now it works here too.
@GT500 Hope that helps youCan someone please confirm this behaviour?
mfMod: Edited for clarity.

I find this strange.
I agree that the bug reporter should receive a reply if the report is closed for any reason. I heard that there has been some discussion about this.
-
@gwen-dragon Done. I received a reply which confirms what I said above:
We have already had internal discussions about improving the bug report form and are looking into possibilities to implement the ideas. I'll forward your feedback to the team as well.
