BING search locked as default
-
In the Vivaldi snapshot (maybe others as well), in the Settings->search options "bing" is set as default, and the "-" removal button is ghosted. I can't set another search engine as default, and I can't change the URL, so I am stuck with Bing as my default search engine. HOW can I change this. Before anyone replies, let me stress. I can't change the default necessary to be able to delete bing
I say this because in another post here there was a similar problem and people were saying "just change the default then delete it"
Vivaldi 1.15.1111.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit)
Revision 653970a68c45187d552abebe5305dc749360f566-
OS Linux
JavaScript V8 6.4.388.45
Command Line /usr/bin/vivaldi-snapshot --always-authorize-plugins --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end -
what happens when you select another search engine, tick both "set as default search" and "set as private search", then press "SAVE" button?

@ntisithoj for what I understand you cannot edit/add search enigines within V Settings, it is? If so, did you try to add them from inside the websites? Go in some site where there's an internal search flat, then right-click over the search bar and then Add as Search Engine. If it works, you shuold now be able to delete/reassign engines from V Settings...

You can add engines, by using the "+" and "-" symbols at the bottom of the engine list.
Of course, you do need to know the correct syntax for the new search URL ! -
@tbgbe thank you for reply, i know that
When I write @ntisithoj I was meaning (and wondering) if maybe there's some problem/bug or something currupt in Vivaldi that makes add/edit unable. That's why I suggest the other way -
The button to delete a search engine is disabled for the default search engine. Just set another search engine as the default. Then you can delete Bing.

@marko-indaco Ah, I misunderstood - you were asking the question and not making a statement!? Sorry, for confusion.
