Bookmarks added to main menu – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.15.1111.3
-
There is a regression in the menu. Click a menu item and then move the cursor into the menu. The highlight of the currently active menu item in the menu bar is lost.
And still not implemented: Click a item in the main menu bar and when the menu opens move the cursor over another item in the main menu bar. The current menu stays open.
Try it with any other program. The menu where you move the cursor should open when you move the cursor over the item. -
There should be a size limitation for the sub-menu:

I see often a redraw-bug in Notes. Is it a known one? I think, it is new.

I really like it so far. Only thing missing for me - smaller speed dial icons.

@ayespy this error is also appeared if I set a new profile via portable.
Just try DELETE ALL THE BOOKMARKS after creating a new profile, then click the menu bar or press Alt. -
@mraandtux You said you had a segfault error. You are on Linux?
-
Bookmark bar inside this Folder and URL titles cannot be moved with a mouse pointer. Why? This already the first version there was a problem, than once the opera browser. Other browsers this basis thing. I cannot use this browser because of this properly.
-
Sometimes closing one of several Vivaldi windows open makes Vivaldi quit. Is this a known issues?
-
@joyoo It's an early version. Patience.
-
@ayespy Both Windows and Linux have the same problem. The segfault message is from the Linux terminal. There's no any error message on Windows terminal (cmd or Powershell) .
-
@mraandtux FYI, an internal tester has run into this issue as well and has filed a bug.
-
Is anybody having issue, that sometimes on startup of V, the bookmar bar is empty/not correct?
-
@enc0re: Yepp. Not often, but it happens. And not only at startup. I just opened Vivaldi from the Taskbar and the Bookmarkbar had been changed to show all my speeddial folders ...

@ayespy: Sync is turned on, yes ...
-
@ayespy Yup, sync enabled from first time possible.
-
Well, then, let's let sync get ironed out before we worry too much about these hiccups.

Thanks for the great bookmark feature - one of my most wanted features!
I really like the concept that you don' t have to click just to open sub-menus, while clicks should be reserved for more important and less reversible things. This seems to save quite some concentration over the hours of software usage for me!I would love to see an properties popup, where you can quickly add some comments, names and nicknames so the bookmark is easy to find (like in old opera). Also right click to get to the properties popup would be great as mentioned above.
Then I do not have to use old opera to manage my bookmarks anymore but can use Vivaldi as my main browser!
