You only have to add this code to the Mod you are using:

      #tabs-subcontainer.top.visible

      {flex-basis: auto !important;}

And regarding JumpingLawnChair's EASY VIVALDI MULTI-ROW GUIDE, then for reference "the info from nomadic's Vivaldi forum post here" is https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/442801.
Mine mod is still working, thank God,
      alt text
yet missing the close x on all tabs, and I cannot right click on ant tab except the open one to copy the URL.

      Thanks again for the work.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

      @Saved2Serve

So I have not been here since February (Hi everyone). I am still following the guide I wrote, EASY VIVALDI MULTI-ROW GUIDE, but using the code from alexander.gorbovets (see their post here on 29 Nov 2021, 13:07). Doing this I DO have the close x on all tabs (at least when I hover over the tab). At least I think it is because of these settings...

I would like a vertical scroll bar on the right of the tab section to appear when the number of rows is over a set amount, eg 3 or 4.
I'm sure I used to have this, but none of the current multi-row versions that I've tried seem to have it.
Can anyone point me to a working version of css that has this feature?

Not mine, even on mouse hover, so I must activate/left click the tab or right click on it to get the close tab option. I also cannot copy the URL of a tab unless I activate it.

But which is not the case in Firefox with the https://github.com/Izheil/Quantum-Nox-Firefox-Dark-Full-Theme/tree/master/Multirow and other functions/Multirow tabs.

Yet all of which is inferior to the scope of customization Firefox ESR (up to 52.09) enabled, via the extensions they nuked. But I thank God for what we have, which is extensive.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

OK, I just looked and found where in settings I added the "Close Tab" x on each tab.

      Assuming I understand you...

      Go to:
Settings > Tabs > Tab Display > Tab Options

Several settings in that area will be of interest. Hope that helps!

Thanks, but it has been checked under Tab Options (vivaldi://settings/tabs/) and deselecting and reselecting or changing it to the left side makes no difference. Nor changing theme. Simply not there.

I copied and used the script of https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/442801 for my custom.css, and restarted, but still no close X unless the tab is being viewed.

You could post the contexts to your custom.css and I could try that, but the issue is likely something else. Thanks for trying to help.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

@Gelf That vertical scroll bar is what the Firefox patcher mentioned above enables, so i know what you mean.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

@Saved2Serve For Firefox I use Paxmod from Github.
It even has its own .xpi installer now and a nice config menu. And yes, it has the vertical scrollbar with number of rows option.
Like I say I'm sure one of the .css's in this thread worked for Vivaldi, but then stopped when there was an upgrade.
I'm just not sure which one!

@Saved2Serve Yes, it takes a little reading to config it (I install it for multiple portable Firefox installations) and sometimes updates break it and require updating the patcher, but it is worth it. Again I thank God for those who craft these helps, many of which for me are basically essential. Many do not know what they are missing. Should be part of the standard install I think.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

Does anyone have a solution to restore the multi-row tabs functionality for the latest Firefox 107.x release? I'm still having the 104.0 version, with QuantumNox and the multi-row tabs still work perfectly (including the drag-n-drop of tabs intra- and inter- rows). And I KNOW 100% that if I give course with what the stupid firefox is suggesting to me - to "upgrade", it will surely break my multi-row tab solution.

Is there a way to make chrome.css-based solutions work with a normal / non-nightly firefox release? I simply do not want to reinstall my firefox.

Gosh, I hate firefox because it's like making it a purpose to destroy any multi-row tab browsing solutions that innovative folks are trying to come up with. And Vivaldi ... well, entice me to go to Vivaldi (was originally an Opera 9.x fan!!!) - but show me a solution that (1) Survives between the stupid upgrade shaite and (2) Works with drag-n-drop!!!

      Thank you.
P.S. Again, I am beginning to hate this firefox crap of game.

Sorry, vertically-stacked tabs, in a side bar, doesn't look like a good solution for me. Because I'm not using a netbook, "chrome"book, or any of that sort.

What else is out there? Brave browser?

      Thank you.

Just checking in for a moment here and saw your comment, Saved2Serve. If you could kindly show me how to enter spoilers here I could copy and paste my custom.css contents, though I agree that that is probably not the issue. Good luck!

Oh, maybe this forum software doesn't support spoilers. It is a way to enter a lot of text and have it appear "collapsed" until you click it. My custom.css file is pretty long, but I just got it's contents from this thread.

Well I tried the version "Multiple Row Tabs - Created by @hababr. Version 2021.10.26" here but I see no difference. I can only get a close button on an active tab like this one, only via on mouse hover, but not on any tabs that are not open, even on mouse hover. Right click on any tab provides a Close tab option, and double left click on any will also do it for I also have that option checked under Settings, as well as Display Close Tab>Permanently
      alt text
      alt text

I am using the current latest Vivaldi ver. 5.5.2805.48 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

The problem must be a conflict with an extension or another setting. But I mainly use many installs of portable Firefox as my main browsers, thru which I can do more, so this lack here is not a major issue. Thank God for a wealth of options!

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

      @Saved2Serve
Just upgraded to Vivaldi Ver. 5.6 and MTR still working, though I reverted back to the one by nomadic which tabs are wider since sometimes the other version would revert back to one tab row until a tab was closed or opened.
Still no close x on inactive tabs, nor on hover unless active, nor do I see on one other images of MTR.

But without MTR I would not be using Vivaldi, so thanks.

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.

Also missing the close X on inactive tabs. Functional otherwise, and thanks to all who have made this happen.

I apologize for being too lazy to go back through 10 pages of posts, but has the Vivaldi team indicated any plans to make this part of the base product?

@smihaila For Firefox multiple tab rows (works in 109.01) I use https://github.com/Izheil/Quantum-Nox-Firefox-Dark-Full-Theme/releases (follow instructions). or

      Or https://github.com/onemen/TabMixPlus/tree/v1.0.0-pre.12

Or via Chrome folder (not sure if it works now) https://adamfeuer.com/notes/2021/06/06/multiple-rows-of-tabs-in-firefox-89-proton/

      For Vivaldi: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/25453/multiple-row-tabs/104?lang=en-US

Thanks. Grace and peace thru Jesus the Lord.
