New Snapshot 1.0.141.2 with more Tiling options, advanced notes and improved spatial navigation.

  • Vivaldi Team

Hey, We have continued to work on Tiling of tabs. You can now tile both vertically and horizontally. Additionally we have added ability to tile as a grid. Spatial Navigation also got better and faster with live indexing and more polish! We have also tweaked more on Notes, you can now add more than one attachment to a note. Browse local images with Vivaldi! Fast forward now works for folders on your hard drive with images. You can also access local-disk using platform paths (unc and driveletter on windows, posix on mac/linux) The auto-updater on windows has also been made simpler, you do now not get the full installer UI. You won't see the changes before the next update though ;-) We are aiming at doing a new Technical Preview on Wednesday so please consider this build a RC and notify us if you find any regressions since the last preview. https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/teamblog/item/18-snapshot-1-0-141-2-with-more-tiling-options-and-better-spatnav //Christian - Vivaldi Technologies

  • Thank you for the update!

    However on Ubuntu 14.04/Mate…
    Flash shows as disabled again.
Starting vivaldi-snapshot from command line with argument "--ppapi-flash-path=" again is the only option to reenable it.
Use the appropriate path for your distros. For Debian/Ubuntu based distros it's "/usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/libpepflashplayer.so".

This is getting very frustrating. 3 broken shapshots in a row. Please fix this or give us a way to get at the setting to fix it.

    Thank you.

They've been working on trying to fix it for at least two weeks.

  • Flash path

I guess some problem in file /opt/vivaldi-snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot, line 65,66, lines after 70 might never reached

  • For me the login data autocomplete function ("magic wand" in old Opera) is still broken since changing to new chrome version. Before it worked like a charm.
In settings menu it says "no passwords stored" and there is no dialog coming up when I try to enter a new password for a website.
    Kubuntu 12.04

  • On linux is missing the flashplayer plugin, earlier page in history does not be loaded, there are randomly crashes.

    Using Ubuntu 14.04 w/ Mate
I've no problems with random crashes or history pages.. In fact, it hasn't crashed for weeks. As to the flash problem, look at earlier posts in this thread.

Have you tried deleting your profile data? I've never had problems with password storing on vivaldi or vivaldi-snapshot.

That's all you can ask for. Thanks. :)

  • yes, renaming the folders did not make any difference. I suppose the connection to kwallet is broken as Vivaldi stores the passwords there.
Removing the passwords from kwallet did not help either. They were not restored when I entered them again during login.

In case of an empty profile there are also the same errors.

  • The flashplugin bug seems to have been fixed in 1.0.142.21.
