@pukkandan SessionBox is not merely an extension. It's a full-on app that contains its own profiling system and its own sessions scheme. It "isolates" individual tabs by actually turning each such tab into its own session under its own profile.

I am talking about the SessionBox extension, not the SessionBox One app. The extension does not need the app to work and works just fine on vivaldi.
SendWin is yet another extension with similar functionality, though more buggy from my experience.

A feature like this would be a perfectly workable alternative to Multi-Account containers IMHO.

@EndlessFields yes, Workspaces would be great if they'd be able to behave like Multi-Account-Containers.
The Edge feature does not do that.
It stores site data locally (all in one bin), it can mirror a group of open tabs to people you choose.
So same asVivaldi, plus a privacy issue.

@becm Doh! You are absolutely correct. I misread what they had posted about this feature. They were stating that logins and cookies would not be shared with other people invited to the workspace, not that they wouldn't be shared between workspaces. Also yes, I hate the whole idea of sharing a workspace of web pages. Who's doing this? Is this really something people wanted?
Well back to being stuck with no alternatives other than separate browser profiles. I will give credit to Edge in this area, as it can automatically route by URL into different Profiles. I wish Vivaldi was able to do this, rather their feature only can route to specific Workspaces.

I need this so that different workspaces can use different VPNs in different locations. I need the workspaces to be able to have independent extensions.

It is disappointing that this isnt a feature yet. I used Chrome with multiple profiles because of having different clients with different accounts and sometimes in the same platforms. Really hope this can be added in the future.
(I just discovered Vivaldi recently and I've been loving the features for the most part)

@Hatlerish One of the Vivaldi developers has explained why Chromium-based browsers cannot do multi-account containers (chromium can only associate one profile per window). Something similar, but different would have to be developed. Extension builders have tried to ape the functions of multi-account containers, but have not been entirely successful.

@Ayespy It would be great if workspaces could isolate in some way. perhaps they cannot.
However if we had a way to use the workspace rules (or profile rules) to direct to certain profiles (if that's the only place the isolation can occur), that would be helpful!

I've been using Vivaldi since the time it was a beta or so. And I can be very productive with Vivaldi. This feature for someone - no matter if a freelance or a regular employee - who has to access the same systems and applications (JIRA, Office365, etc.) but with different logins for different clients is a deal breaker!
More and more professionals are relying on Vivaldi browser functionality, and this should be core functionality in my opinion, not "nice to have" as it is labeled in the description. -
@V In order for it to be a "core functionality," Vivaldi would have to change the architecture of Chromium altogether. Because of this architecture, Vivaldi desktop also can't have private tabs. It creates significant problems for trying to incorporate features that Chromium doesn't support.
I personally log in to multiple users on the same website all the time, but Google (so far) is the only one that supports my being logged in under three users in the same window. Ironic - because their website can support it, but their browser can't support it on any other website.

I am glad to see the interest for Multi-Account Container has been and keeps on going strong. Sadly, a while back after going over the documentation of how this Mozilla Technology works, I and some others, came to find that this technology is at the core of Firefox. This can't just be easily introduced to Vivaldi for this needs to be done at the core of Chromium itself.
It would be easier for the Vivaldi Team to release a Vivaldi-Gecko browser than for them to bring Multi-Account Containers to Vivaldi-Chromiun.
And to be hones, a Vivaldi-Gecko would be a killer browser. All the security one can muster for a Gecko-based browser with the GUI/versatility/ease of use/aesthetics of Vivaldi. Delightful.One can only dream.

I wouldn't consider sessionbox unsuccessful.
They managed to get the job done and they even made a business model out of it.
There are people who pay for sessionbox for a reason.
I don't like sessionbox, shady collection of user data, ridiculous prices, but I wouldn't call sessionbox unsuccessful.
Sessionbox is not user friendly too, but that's understandable considering they are limited with the extension GUI for a feature like that.
But sessionbox does the job, although I would never pay them, their subscription prices are ridiculous. -
