clear private data doesnt work with gmail?
-
after i cleared all cookies and cache, when i go to the gmail site still my mail address is shown in the field. why? how?
-
Did you check "Form Autofill Data"
It can also be found at:chrome://settings/autofill
-
its checked, but i dont click in the field or do i get this wrong:
"Enable Autofill to fill out forms in a single click" -
also when i disable autofill, still there is my mail address inserted directly when visiting gmail.
(btw why there is no edit button here??) -

is it checked on Clear Private Data or enable on chrome://settings/autofill?
-
i unchecked autofill in settings and cleared autofill data.
no effect. doesnt have anything to do with this. -
@schreck I searched in the forums, to delete the Autofill is how it's posted here: go to chrome://settings/autofill and disable it.
Did you have any entry saved over there? -

Check the Modification forum for that.

i did everything exactly like described and did a restart AND entered gmail.com,
and guess whats written in the textfield...why dont you just try it yourself and you´ll see!
-
I have no Google mail.
-
so this is then an vivaldi error?
-
@schreck
I don't think it's autofill or an error.
Autofill and passwords are different.
Do you have a saved password for gmail.vivaldi://settings/privacy/
If so, what you see is what you would expect.Your email address is your saved username.
Hit "next" and your password will be inserted.P.S. To edit your post....

vivaldi://settings/privacy/
If so, what you see is what you would expect.yes i have saved a password. so this is the reason?
how does one change this behavior that the username is automatically inserted?why there is still no master password that must be entered when starting vivaldi to get access to all the passes?? nobody here thinks thats a vast security flaw..?

There is a flag....
vivaldi://flags/#fill-on-account-select
but the username is still visible in an overlay and is inserted by clicking on.Fill passwords on account selection
Filling of passwords when an account is explicitly selected by the user rather than autofilling credentials on page load. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, AndroidI don't regard it as a security flaw.
Don't know how your OS works, but here in Linux, my passwords are saved to an encrypted keyring and are only accessible once I have physically logged into a password protected graphical session.
Do you let others use your computer account or leave your computer unlocked when idle?
In any case I don't save sensitive passwords within Vivaldi.
