Pan Large Images with Left Mouse Button
The Middle-mouse fast scrolling of large images works well enough, but it is rather hard to control.
Opera 12.18 allows panning of large images by clicking and holding the LMB. Single-click toggles between fit page and full size, which is fine. Scrollwheel and Shift+Scrollwheel also work to scroll and pan.

As alternative - Viewhance extension:

Is that a Vivaldi feature or some add-in? I mean, I've never had such a thing, so if it is a feature I'll need to report a bug.
@rkzn It is a default feature. Click and release the MMB to enter fast scroll mode, the same as for fast scrolling on web pages.

No such thing here, ever, I think. I guess I'll report a bug later.

Linux may have a setting to choose between middle-click Paste and autoscroll - check Settings.
@sgunhouse That might be it, thank you. Middle-click does paste.
