Scroll To links (#) don't work at documentation of xcrud.com

  • Hello Vivaldi People :)

    1. I love this browser.
    2. Scroll To links don't work. This is apparently a bug in Chrome. Scrolling down a long page to (#) links has been around forever, I'm surprised it doesn't work in Vivaldi. Here is an example page: http://xcrud.com/documentation/index.html ...click on the links in the left navbar. They work in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

    Cheers,

    Dave

@davex64 Confirmed that it works in Opera 12.18 and Firefox 58, but not in Vivaldi. There is no problem with scrolling to anchors on a page — I use it extensively on my own website, but that xcrud page seems to be constructed differently.

@DaveX64 Welcome here in our community.
Thanks for reporting the issue in forum.

Can you please report the bug to Vivaldi devs.

How to do a bug report for Vivaldi

Report each bug separately at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
Describe the issue as precise as you can.
Add some information about extensions you use.
Add information about the operating system and version you use.
Add some information which security tools you use.
If you have problems with video or audio give us information about your installed codecs and graphics
    card/GPU.
Add a exact link to the page where the issue comes up and can be tested.
After reporting the issue, you will receive a confirmation mail from the bugtracker.
In a reply to this mail you can add more information and files (like screenshots or testcases) as
attachments and it will be added automatically to bug report.

If you have questions about the bug please ask in forum first and do not forget to post the VB-XXXXX
bug number (you can find it in confirmation mail).

Thanks in advance for helping us to make Vivaldi better!

@DaveX64 Please contact the webmaster of the page to fix it for Chromium based browsers!

Bad JS programming on the page. Not a Vivaldi bug as it fails in Chrome and Opera, too.

  • If you disable javascript, the links work perfectly fine, so the owner of the site must be doing something strange.

    [edit:]
They seem to be using a jQuery plugin called "scrollTo". Why on earth they want to use that as well as #element urls, I have no idea. The jQuery version they're using is also very out of date.

Not a bug of Vivaldi, so it is a Wont fix.
