Portable Vivaldi + updates

  • I use all browsers unpacked (it is not "PortableApps").

    This batch files starts the browser

    :: http://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/
    start "%CHROMIUM_NAME%" %CHROMIUM_DIR%\%CHROMIUM_BIN% ^
        --lang=en-US ^
        --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0" ^
        --disk-cache-size=1 ^
        --no-proxy-server ^
        --safebrowsing-disable-auto-update ^
        --disable-translate ^
        %HOME_URL%

    When it comes to updating it is also manual:

    @echo off

    FOR /F delims^=^"^ tokens^=4 %%U IN ('wget -qO- "https://vivaldi.com/download/"^|find ".x64.exe"') DO (
        ECHO %%U | wget -i -
    )

    :: Unpack
    FOR %%V IN (Vivaldi.*.x64.exe) DO "%ProgramFiles%\7-zip\7z.exe" e %%V
    "%ProgramFiles%\7-zip\7z.exe" x vivaldi.7z
    DEL /Q Vivaldi.*.x64.exe vivaldi.7z

    :: Update
    DEL /Q Vivaldi-bin\update_notifier.exe
    MOVE /Y Vivaldi-bin\vivaldi.exe .
    FOR /D %%V IN (Vivaldi-bin\1.*.*) DO MOVE /Y %%V .
    RMDIR /Q Vivaldi-bin

    PAUSE

    (needs wget and 7z on your %PATH%)

    All the best!
