It's probably rather early to be making requests like this, but it would be nice if when I'm in a mail view I could press a key combo and type the folder I want to move something to. Kind of like how in Quick Commands I can type "Page Zoom 20"...
It would be far easier to press F2 > type "move mon" and have the current selected mail be moved into the first folder whose name starts with "mon" than have to click a mail, and then do that annoying drag-and-scroll to drop it into where it needs to be.
I know other clients can let you assign shortcuts to move to a folder, but having to maintain & remember that for every single folder is a right pain.
Just dropping the idea here for now.

Personally I would not switch out M3 for any other mailer, including M2. -
It's a bit independent of the subject, but everyone says M2 is the best email client (at least for now). Where can it be downloaded?
-
@bimlas It's inbuilt into Opera, just download the last version before they switched to chromium.
-
@luetage Thanks, it works fine!
For anyone else interested in trying out:
- The latest version of Opera12 (if I'm right) can be downloaded from https://ftp.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/win/1218/en/
- To use the mailer, go to menu -> Mail and Chat Accounts
-
@bimlas There are also a number of advanced settings you can set, which in effect turn the O12 browser into essentially a pure mail client (by hiding and disabling most browser functions and UI elements). That's what I've done with mine.
-
@Ayespy Thank for the tip! It's not nice to talk about a "competing" mail client here, so I put my questions in a private message if you don't mind.

How sad Linux (and Mac too) has only 12.16β¦

@potmeklecbohdan I think the .18 update was for some windows specific security bugs.
-
@LonM Then everything is OK. Thanks for letting me know.
-
For Windows and Mac Iβd recommend instead the stand-alone Opera Mail client.
Like I mentioned before, itβs fully functional and Iβd argue safer than the Opera Classic suite.
-
@bimlas I don't mind. That said, Jon built Opera 12, and is building the mail client for Vivaldi. I think he kind of expects to compete with his earlier product, to win converts..

I wish I'd say the same
Still using M2 while waiting M3 is been polishing... -
I think more than in the web panel, there should be a direct access, or even SpeedDial to a reader itself, similar to Feedly, with the possibility of having "widgets" incorporated into SpeedDial
-
@brianerc Try this feedreader: Feedbro:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/feedbro/mefgmmbdailogpfhfblcnnjfmnpnmdfa
-
I also used feedbro into firefox. But I have wondered how Vivaldi could run the extension into a panel. It seems that badges for new number and the special and comfortable extension feature that is considering all news as read when you reach the bottom of the new page, don't run. As I show these are problems for the panelization, the standard version doesn't (look the extension part of the address bar).
Note the show mode with 3 columns. -
@Seasonly But, look, you can use Feedbro in the panel:
-
On macOS Catalina Opera Classic (including the 64 bit version) doesn't work properly anymore, because Apple decided to delete some toolkits needed by Opera. Hence M2 wont be usable anymore.
It's high time for M3!

Cannot find a proper email client alternative : (
Thunderbird is still awful and can't do a simple search...
Trojita which is close to Opera M2 has been dropped too : ( -
@finway Install Opera 12.18. I still use it for my email, and very occasionally for other tasks like editing source code, or testing web pages. I use Windows 10, but it is also available for other platforms.
