[1.14.1077.25] Sync is gone in the latest snapshot on linux
-
In the latest snapshot on linux mint 18.3 the sync function is gone. I downgraded to the snapshot before and got sync back. Did anyone else notice that?
-
-
@alensen Damn, I didn't notice. It's not only gone from Linux, but also from osx it seems.
-
I'm using Windows 7 and it was gone for me, too. But you can re-enable it under vivaldi://experiments
-
@luetage Yeah. Developers were not satisfied with the readiness of the backend and that has triggered a major re-write. So it has been relegated to experiments (therefore you can enable it, but only if you are really ready for glitches).
-
Been a core feature for some people, i wonder why there was no official news from vivaldi?
-
@zikkeratak: sync isn't even officially introduced, it's still in beta, incomplete and now even kept hidden by default to not cause any issue to those not wanting even to test it, it's better this way. Activate it at your own risk
-
@ian-coog yeah i hear you, actually, I'm using it, but it was posted on Vivaldi team first time it was out for public testing, i wonder why there was no announcement on being hidden on this snap shot.
just wondering.
-
@zikkeratak They just neglected to mention it. This version (or something very like it) is being considered for release, and it won't be released to the public just quite yet. So, since it's not going to be in 1.14 Stable, it's hidden for the moment. There is a fairly major backend re-write going on at the moment.
-
@alensen It is also gone from Windows as well.

Good news! I've found Vivaldi Sync is back in the latest Snapshot v1.15.1094.3.
