About that "Giving you the browser you want" - is there multiple rows bookmarks bar already?

Anyway I find it superfluous, to be sufficient to add a page to Speed Dial so that also appears in a folder on the bookmarks bar (certainly much more practical than the Speed Dial, to have direct access without having to open once a new tab.)

@ayespy This thread and your https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/188321 comment did get me to thinking, though. If there was a capability of rendering different bookmarks' text on the bar each in a different user-selectable color, it would offer the possibility of employing color for differentiating different kinds of bookmarks on a bar. Right now, I use position and a kind of textual shorthand for fast visual recognition of highly-abbreviated bookmarks... customizable bookmark color would open up another entire dimension for organization/recognition. It's kind of what icons now do (unique shapes/colors/etc), but unfortunately, there are hopelessly too many issues with site icons alone to use for organizing, as such icons now exist.

@blackbird For text-only display on the bookmarks bar, you have a point.

What might be practical is to give different colors or icons to the folders in the bookmarks bar, which for now are all the same

The reasoning is that color is an excellent means of differentiating between and visually identifying otherwise similar-looking things. Over the years, I've come to rely heavily on this very concept in colorizing text portions and cell contents in my many Excel spreadsheets.

As almost everybody have widescreen monitor, I would prefer to have bookmarks vertically by official way. With some possibility of adding Name of bookmarks sections. I prefer to do as less mouse clicks as possible, so I never get used to SpeedDials. I don't like doing one useless more click every time if I want to load some page.

@juris3d
like you, I'm checking here once a week to see if Vivaldi has progressed in regard to multiple row bookmarks and even more important (in my view) regarding multiple row tabs. Recently I deleted Vivaldi from my system as of my frustration that nothing happens in this regard. Users are asking these features for YEARS but at Vivaldi the only response always is something like "we have more important things to do".
Well, it seems that at Vivaldi developers think that most of the users have been waiting urgently for the vertically readable (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) Browser version that today is released and has given this their priority. To be honest dear developers... I myself have NOT been waiting for that feature and I guess most of the other R.o.W. users haven't been either, I'm afraid :-).
I fear "Becoming the browser I want" will take another few years and it will probably not be Vivaldi... which is a pity as it was very promising in the beginning. -

Me neither, but Vivaldi has a lot of Japanese users who do appreciate it.

@pesala
maybe our Asian friends are going to ask for multiple row bookmarks/tabs as well some day :-). -
Wow. At times, we users can sound like little kids squabbling over free food... "I don't like this", "I didn't get that", "He got one first", "When do I get one", "Why does she always get first choice", "They got more..."
Sigh...

@blackbird
reassuring to see that you're including yourself :-). Have fun... ! -
As I don't know most of the sites you bookmarked my tip may be way off, but maybe you could just grab some RSS reader to reduce number of bookmarks you click often?

reassuring to see that you're including yourself :-). Have fun... !Frankly, sometime back I figured out I had spent (wasted?) too much time loudly complaining about the things me, myself, and I wanted in free software. I came to realize that I actually owned no horses in the race of developing such things, and that patiently stating my desires and then patiently leaving it at that was a more mature - and lower stress - approach. I still don't always get it right, but I'm trying...
