Any news on NEON-less build?

  • Hello, as I mentioned on linuxquestions, Vivaldi fails on Nvidia Tegra (on toshiba AC-100 netbook) with "Invalid Instructions". And that's probably because it is build with NEON instructions, whatever-they-are.

Is there a chance for a NEON-less build?

    • What is your OS?
    • Which version of vivaldi are you installing?
    • If it is an OS that supports 32-bit applications, have you tried using the 32-bit ARM test build from the latest snapshot? (Just to make sure you're not trying to install the regular linux version.).

  • The OS is Slackware-arm current, just tried to install vivaldi-snapshot_1.14.1077.25-1_armhf.deb ,

    $ /opt/vivaldi-snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot

No suitable library for HTML5 MP4 (H.264/AAC) video and MP3 audio was
found, therefore only open codecs will play.

How to do a bug report for Vivaldi

Report each bug separately at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
Describe the issue as precise as you can.
Add some information about extensions you use.
Add information about the operating system and version you use.
Add some information which security tools you use.
If you have problems with video or audio give us information about your installed codecs and graphics
    card/GPU.
Add a exact link to the page where the issue comes up and can be tested.
After reporting the issue, you will receive a confirmation mail from the bugtracker.
In a reply to this mail you can add more information and files (like screenshots or testcases) as
attachments and it will be added automatically to bug report.

If you have questions about the bug please ask in forum first and do not forget to post the VB-XXXXX
bug number (you can find it in confirmation mail).

Thanks in advance for helping us to make Vivaldi better!

:warning: But do not expect a quick fix as the ARM build is currently for testing. It may work or not on some devices and Linux distributations.
