Rearrangeable search engines – Vivaldi browser Snapshot 1.14.1064.3

@newscpq Does it still have a problem if you right click the panel and select to show the desktop version?
-
@lonm WOW, no: the "show desktop version" trick, solved.
-
now if we could only sync these search engines...
my #2 for synchronization must-have (#1 = notes)

I don't get any favicon if I add a search engine for TypeDrawers
There is a favicon on the site. Why is Vivaldi not finding it?
Erwin Denissen on Type draws suggested
Maybe it is due to the external (and https) location:

[WISH] Saving a Bookmark should save window position and size, also, as well as "Toggle UI" switch
Hello,
I wish I could save a bookmark, together with the absolute position and size of the window, containing it, so that I could open that particular webpage in the same exact position, where I like it, to be.I wish "Toggle UI" (CTRL+F11) was a setting I could set differently for every Window and that it was saved, too, in the bookmark, so that I could open a bookmark in a given position (see point 1., above) and with the UI switch, turned ON, or OFF.
Is it something that can be done?

(VB-35492) Sync Icon should force Sync Tab in Settings
This bug seems to be fixed. I didn't notice it in the Changelog.

Thanks!

[Settings] Remember settings popup size and position (VB-12006)
This doesn't seem to work for me. The settings popup has always been an issue for me on Linux.
I have a dual-monitor set up. My primary monitor is the right monitor (I rarely use the left monitor, and often don't turn it on). The Vivaldi browser is on my right monitor. But the settings popup window always opens on the left monitor.
I think this might be some issue with Linux, since a lot of programs seem to want to open on the left monitor instead of the primary monitor on the right, as if it is assumed that the left will be the primary. It's usually more common in pop up windows that open from within an already running program.

I found a bug : I set "remove tab spacing in maximized windows"
but, when I open the browser,it still have space.if I turn it min then open it,the space will disappear.
I found this bug in this and the previous version。 -
Good one!
-
@chenxuuu Did you file a bug report?
-
@ayespy Why? It is "[Regression][Win] Vivaldi doesn’t remember window maximization: improvement, more still to be done (VB-35145)" bug.
-
@asires We don't know, do we? Failure to set the no-space setting MIGHT be related to the window state bug, and it might not. To my knowledge, it has not been tested.

User interface across the browser for similar functions is not consistent.
Example one:
When editing mouse gestures in options we have to select item in the list and click edit button (with pencil) to start editing. For editing search engines there is no edit button and buttons for adding/deleting item looks not the same.
Example two:
We can order bookmarks and notes using drag & drop. There is no arrow buttons for moving items up and down that we can see in ordering search engines. -
@fifonik said in Rearrangeable search engines – Vivaldi browser Snapshot 1.14.1064.3:

It does not need to be. Editing of search engines is possible without entering edit mode. Like keyboard shortcuts, it is available directly. Themes, Mouse Gestures, and Search Engines expand or change the Interface in Edit mode.
Moving bookmarks and notes up and down would be incredibly tedious with buttons. You could request it, but I doubt if it would get many votes.
-
When you add the possibility of adding search engines that use POST?
-
@ayespy "To my knowledge, it has not been tested."
You mean, if we didn't file the bug devs will not test VB-35145 with "no-space setting"?
-
Drag and Drop of search engines does not work properly. Dropping them results in them being dropped to a different position than intended. My GUI Zoom is @ 110%
-
@asires I admit it's probable that it will be tested. But the specific bug about the top space over tabs is actually over four versions old, and it cannot hurt to bring it to the fore again. What's being addressed under this specific bug is a false "maximized" state. One wants to ensure that the "no-space" setting is also addressed at the same time.

@kened: if its such a fancy feature also for youtube, maybe google is implementing this upstream, so ist may come with chromium.
(I also think, in comparison with other more basic requested features like removal of the home button, addition to a "new bookmark folder" button it seems to be a lot of potentially troublesome work.
I would prefer that those more complicated and gimmicky features that might cause problems for speed and stability are given a lower prioriy..
