Enter path in the "open files" dialog window
-
It seems I can only navigate by clicking the icons in the "open files" popup window.... is it possible to have a input box to type in, or paste, the path directly? Thanks.

The dialog is created by GTK3: GtkFileChooserDialog. Settings can be changed using
dconf-editor
.The command to switch to filename entry mode is:
$ gsettings set org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser location-mode 'filename-entry'
and back to default:
$ gsettings set org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser location-mode 'path-bar'
But due to a GTK3 bug, the setting is not persistent. The next time a GTK3 application is started, the value will be overwritten to default.
Until this bug is fixed, the only way to switch to file-entry is to use the hotkey Ctrl+L.

You can also just type the path or paste directly in the address bar, preceding with
file://
eg
file:///home/zhangdl/mytext.txt -
