How to switch to Vivaldi in under 5 minutes
-
@meymigrou Try APNG and see if that's any better. I doubt it, but it's worth a try.

@bahmud The plan is to release 1.14 with sync. However, sync is not sufficiently stable, and the Chromium ver. 63 intake has caused some problems, and delayed the release of 1.14 so long, that it looks like Chromium 63 may be skipped in the Stable releases altogether, and Vivaldi 1.14 will be released as Stable, with sync, when it can be stabilized on top of Chromium 64. Your patience is appreciated.

Thank you.

Bahmud's post for English speakers:
Thanks for the answer. I'll have to wait then. I'm still on Chrome, but as soon as 1.14 with synchronization is released, I'll switch right away. The browser is just cool. You are the best!

@orthodox: Sorry for my typos.
rreleased => released

@orthodox To edit your posts, use the blue vertical dots icon at bottom right of each post.
-
@pesala: Thanks! I was going to ask if there's a way to edit, as it's usual in forums.
-
@orthodox Not in the blog page, but you can access the comments in the forums.
-
5 minutes is too long, how about lower it to 5 second?
(skip all the step by step blahbala...) -
@an_dz Not necessarily so. APNG compression is better, so not only do you get support for more colours, but you also get alpha-transparency. Both of these images are only 256 colours.

@gbb Users can simply close the welcome page if they don't wish to configure Vivaldi on first run.
-
Thanks, Margarita!
-
It's a test.
-
@gbb: We're playing around with some ideas at the moment along those lines.
i.e. when you first fire up Vivaldi, being asked "how long do you want to spend getting set up? 0, 2min, 5min" etc. So people have the choice to zip through it or take their time.
-
Changing Vivaldi for me was a matter of seconds, but its configuration is an invitation as a permanent task
-
@jonmc You could simply put a "Not now thanks" button on the first screen of the Welcome page, and close the tab if it is clicked.
